Have you got a hole on your course that is your nemesis. The 13th at vivary is about 280,so it is driveable. The problems are there are trees all the way down the right, and the entrance to the green is only 20 yrds wide and the fairway slopes right to left away from the entrance. Its a par four si 15.Not the hardest hole an easy par four but at 280 definately a birdie chance. Its my nemesis because i usually go for the green and end up in the trees.Whats your bogey hole on your course, thought i would get that in before some clever cloggs said "nose". :)

the 19th. Its got me into loads of trouble over the years, prob the 8th hole its a 90 degree dogleg right, gauranteed its the only time it hit a straight drive when i dont want to, hate it

I've got two

17th @ Tinsley, par 3, 180 - 190 yards, a 12 to 15ft bank up to the green, out of bounds all up the left, big trouble back & right.
Been back through my scores recently & have parred this hole twice, only hit green once I think - playing here tomorrow so it''l be another swipe with the hybrid with low expectations!

11th @ Beauchief - the pond hole, another par 3. Why do I have a completely different swing on this hole than at any other time?! I feel like I'm trying to do the peter crouch robot dance with a golf club in my hand!

6th at mine.

Fairly straightforward par 3, 180 or so from memory.

Big bank at the left and bigger bunker on the right. Always stand there to draw it into the bank and bring back down but tends to be the only shot I'll hit straight all day end 7 or 8 times out of ten end up right or just short right of the green

pj - any hole which is a 'safe' Par can hardly be called a nemesis !!!

Its the feckers that should be easy, but which you always Bogey, that can only be called a Nemesis.

12th for me, 199yds Par 3. Mind you, so far this year, signs are good........

The 3rd. Just a shade under 200 yards,up a steep hill, over a ridge par 3. Its the site of my first ever 2,which was also my first ever birdie, but im fairly confident its also the hole that im most over par for in total.

The 12th is a nightmare as well. 210 yard, downhill with trees lining the fairway to the left and thick rough to the right. Can always guarantee a hook tee shot and lost ball. I've taken to punching a 7I off the tee cos you can run it pretty far, almost to the edge of the green if you're lucky and you pick the right line.

There's other holes that i rarely play well but those 2 are the worst.

The 4th & 7th at Ashbourne.

Both are shortish holes with no hazards (except OOB next to the green) but getting onto the green can be tricky, let alone the correct part of the green.

The 4th is a steady driver followed by a wedge, but if you leave the 2nd slightly short it'll spin back into a hollow at the front of the green leaving a tricky two putt. Anything slightly too long runs off the back as the green slopes from middle to back.

The 7th is only a rescue wood from the tee and doglegs to the left. A decent tee shot gives you about 90yds uphill to an island green with OOB behind and a big slope to the front.

I should par them everytime IMHO, but I don't!

Thats the problem,it should be a safe par four but 7 times out of ten its a five because i try and drive the green,i know i should lay up and in medals i do,but its the thought of getting there in 1 that doesnt help, thats why its my nemesis :)

mrswoo has a ladies hole and keeps the grass nicely mown, although can get a bit damp sometimes especially when playing with stiff shafts.

Every hole on my course at one time or another!
But the biggest one is our 8th.
168 yards of Par 3. Downhill.
Clag right, pond left, 20 yards wide and about the same deep. Drop off the back to more clag.
Either a 7 or a 6 depending on wind etc.
Pretty straightforward.

The number of times I walk off with a 4 is unbelievable!!

The 9th at my place off the yellows. 444yd par 4, oob all the way down the right. Even my very best drive leaves me needing a 5 iron in that has to hit a very small green or you're in a ditch left or oob right. Seen many a promising round fall apart there.
Fortunately it becomes a 518yd par 5 off the whites which does make it a little easier.

13th and/or 17th at ours.

13th is SI1, 440 yds uphill, dogleg right - OB on right for 1st 300 yds with a large Oak on the corner of the dogleg at about 220 yds.

17th is 410 yds dogleg right, hedge and ditches either side of dogleg at about 250 yds, a large pond short of the green with retaining wall on far side.

I struggle with both of these and am really happy with a 5 on them. I consider a par a real bonus.

Yep, the 16th, par 5 with trees and a track down the right side, fairway slopes to the right as well and seeing as my tee shots go to the right, its never a good hole for me

The 6th at my place. Only 178 off the whites but with a ditch short, OB left and right. SI 14 and should be nothing more than a 4I or hybrid. If I've not hooked it OB left I've sliced it OB right. Can be hitting reasonably well up until then and then put a horror swing on it on that tee

The 7th at my previous course (Murrayshall). 356 yard SI2. Dog leg right with OB down right hand side, Mature tree in the middle of the fairway at the elbow, burn in front of an elevated green protected by a narrow gap through the trees about 30 yards short of the green. :(

It's odd you know.....I've been thinking about my regular courses and none of them have as many potential disaster holes as at my home club.
I track my way around tricky holes with a "plan B" always up my sleeve. Even on some really "proper" courses, I have a plan C as well.
It frustrates me badly. :D
