Yesterday I decided to try out another putter. No real reason other than I fancied a change.
A couple of years ago Alex from Orka Golf custom built me a putter but until yesterday I had never used it out on the course.

I putted like a god and recorded just 29 putts including 3 birdies and several good par saves.
I guess it's earned its place to stay in the bag, at least for a while....

Yes, Mizuno mp650 hybrids where set to open face angle. They were a god send during my hook years.

Cleveland classic woods were the complete opposite. I used them during this period and with their shut faces I could hit boomerang hooks. Unreal:o

I think Hybrids are one of the hardest clubs to get right....like you, I could hook a hybrid with ease, but the new M1 sits a little more open at address and I rarely hook that now.

Recently change irons from an old set of Mizuno MX25 to some new Wilson Staff FG Tour M3's.

Never felt so confident over my irons shots - they're beautiful to hit and forgiving but 'bladed' enough that I can feel like I can shape my shots.

I've lost about a club in length but this is due to the lofts being slightly higher than my previous clubs.

My long irons have always been a weak point but I prefer hitting them now more than anything!
Amazing what a change of sticks can do!

That period opened my eye to the effect of open or closed faces in clubs. its one of the first things I look at these days when eyeing a wood, driver or hybrid for the first time. How does it sit to my eye?

I think one of the laws of golf is that a change of putter or driver brings immediate results. Whether those results go past 2 rounds is a different matter. The same impact rarely happens with irons for some reason.

Cobra FlyZ driver. Total revelation. Gave me 20 to 30 yards more off the tee from the get go. My mum hit it a few times to try it out, same thing. She has one now as well.

The only downside is that if I now hit a slice (my most common miss with the driver, my old one as well) it goes a lot deeper into the woods.

The Cobra Baffler XL 3 wood was a love on first hit as well. Same loft as my old 5 wood (some Dunlop model), but so much easier to get airborne and quite a bit longer as well.

Like Capella, Cobra Fly z Driver, enjoying driving more than I ever have before

Also when I swap between putters depending on the course I'm playing

Went from a R1 to a SLDR - immediately my driving was far better

And same with my putting when i went from a TM Spider to a Scotty

This is beginning to send like a viral campaign, but I got a fly -z driver a few weeks ago and it is so much better than my old 910 I'm wondering if it is strictly legal...

Haha! Another one for the Fly Z Driver here too - So much longer and easier to hit than my SLDR!

I put a 24 deg hybrid in the bag as a long iron replacement. Dropped the 4-iron and now have a very comfortable go to club for longer approachs. Easy to hit and sft landing.

1st time I used a 2 ball putter (when they first came out) I couldn't miss the hole and had my first ever under par gross round. That stayed in my bag for over 10 years.

Yep.
A few years ago I got a TM R9 after trying a Mate's and hitting it well.
Same spec - couldn't even find the barn door, let alone hit it.
Immediate results.....😩

One of the truly revolutionary new golf clubs to hit the market is the last couple of decades or so, I would say.
