Must be a lot of pub golfers commenting on here. Club golf is a serious business and didn't have a problem before this WHS fiasco. App or otherwise, it's just not fit for purpose. If golf's not your main game then keep your thoughts to yourself.

So you've made 7 posts so far slagging off the WHS, accusing it of being not fit for purpose, telling other posters that they cant be proper golfers and dismissing the factual opinion of one of the forums most respected members when it comes to rules and handicapping. Not once have you made any positive contribution to the discussion about how it could be improved.
Enough of the bluster....how would you change it? (and lets hear something a bit more constructive than throwing bellicose comments around like confetti, in the hope that someone takes notice of your voice).

Club’s issue is around the submission of scores directly to the WHS platform via the MyEG App. These scores are not logged/picked up by IG and get missed when looking at a players record for comp eligibility purposes.
The preference is for members to use the IG App or terminal (not the MyEG app) to record casual play scores at the club.
I’m guessing the same issue arises for GP rounds played away from home and submitted to WHS using MyEG, but club can’t do anything about it and so they remain invisible for comp eligibility purposes.

If you ‘cheat’ with WHS, you probably cheated pre WHS. The system hasn’t made cheats cheat.

Supplementary cards were relatively new to UHS for the few years before WHS. Most players didn't bother.
The introduction of apps, where the sign in and score returns are so much easier and less secure, has opened the door to cheats.

Wasn't just a "few" years... supplementary scores were in place 12 years before the WHS was introduced....and at many clubs they were popular and certainly at my club the facility was well "used" by a large number of golfers.
Yes the mobile phone app's have made it easier for supplementary cards to be submitted, but let's please get away from the notion that supplementary / general play scores are relatively new, were rarely used, and are closely related in any way to the WHS.
The only reasons they may have been rarely used were that some clubs really didn't understand them, didn't have processes in place for them to be submitted, or actively discouraged golfers from submitting them... e.g. by levying a charge to process said scores.

I seem to remember that you could only submit 10 cards a year and only 1 a week.
Cat 1 were added after a couple of years.

Yes, this meant that they were relatively rare at my club (although we did publicise them and had the correct procedures in place).
They tended to be done by those who were just starting and wanted to get a stable handicap. The only ‘regular’ golfers who ever submitted them were those trying to get a ‘competition’ handicap to ensure they had 3 scores in the past year to allow them to enter comps, this was a handful of players every year.
As they had to be manually entered, they were closely monitored and I cannot recall any instances or even allegations of players trying to manipulate their handicaps by regular submission Ig supplementary scores. Manipulation and cheats were of course around then but, certainly at my club, supplementary scores were not the method.
Their volume, frequency and purpose are all chalk and cheese with GP scores.

When I was ember at Whipsnade we, as 5 day members, only had access to 5 Stapleford comps per year....so if you were away or not able to play in some then it was difficult to maintain your 3 cards...we used Supplementary cards but even that was a trial as they had to go to Committee for ratification, would often take 3-4 weeks to appear on your record and used to cost us a quid for the privilege.....

It would be very difficult to cheat in that environment. And if you include pre-registration, almost impossible.
I wonder if anyone are aware of the methods that cheats would use in those days
