Gutted! Lost the doubles final on the last!

Rather disappointed today, as yesterday my partner and I lost the final of the doubles on the par four 18th. 1 down on the tee, and I hit what can only be described as drive of my life, but we could still only halve the hole.

We never really clicked and with only four shots it was telling - lost 1, halved 1, won 2. Got to win your shot holes!

I was then interested to hear one of the commentators during the Ryder Cup say, "well, you shouldn't ever lose the hole to par in matchplay. Cardinal sin!"... which made me feel so much better!

On the whole, proud to have made the final, having beaten some tough teams to get there... just a shame to lose it!

As you say, you had a good run in getting there and should be pleased with yourselves.

At our level, I think you can safely change the cardinal sin to 'you should never lose a hole to a bogey.'
