We run an open mixed competition in the summer and the format for this comp is being reviewed at the moment. I am interested to get opinions on the two formats from any players who regularly play mixed golf.

Thanks in advance.

I play quite a lot of mixed golf with a regular partner who plays off 20. we have played greensomes and foursomes this year the only advantage you have in greensomes is that you get to choose a drive after that as you know its alternate shots.

Personaly i prefer foursomes as it's a more pure form of golf and our club mixed pairs comp is also played in this format, as are all our inter-club mixed matches.

Played both formats and would have to say Foursomes it the better of the two as far as I'm concerned. It's certainly a good dayout when I've played mixed foursomes opens and it's good to play a nice course without the pressure of a normal gents open.
