This is about the time that a lot of courses will do their maintenancePlayed nine holes yesterday evening and found that the tees and green surrounds, some of which have been crying out to be dressed and seeded since winter, have just been done.
In August? Is this normal?

We have seeded in some areas as well
My point was this work was never done earlier in the year.
We have three greens adjacent to which are large areas which never recovered from the wet winter, and are now largely bare with patchy growth. They were crying out in the spring to have this work done and only now have they been treated and roped off.
That specific work hasn’t been done because it was scheduled maintenance. It’s a direct result of multiple complaints and a course walk through conducted by the club manager and scratch team captain, when the latter aired concerns from the members about a limited number of areas, the work being carried out within days.
So, there is a point to long socks.Going into brambles wearing shorts to look for a FC's ball and emerging looking like I'd been savaged by a leopard.

Confirmed tonight at the hospital that it is indeed a fracture. Doctor said to give it another week or two until I should play golf, but armed with some co-codamol I'll be at H4H.I had a family holiday last week in Butlins, messing around in the outdoor river rapids and my lad crashes knee first into my ribs, not sure if it's just bruising or a fracture or worse but a week later and I'm still in pain with them. I haven't played golf in two and a half weeks now anyway but now I'm just hoping they will be healed enough for H4H. Just done a few air swings at work and it's not feeling great at all, I'm meant to be playing Saturday morning but I'm going to have to pull out.
All that to say I'll be (hopefully) coming to H4H not having played in a month....
You'll be fine. Just don't laugh or coughConfirmed tonight at the hospital that it is indeed a fracture. Doctor said to give it another week or two until I should play golf, but armed with some co-codamol I'll be at H4H.

Someone won a comp a couple of weeks ago at my place with a net 63 off of 8. Same guy had a net 60 off 12 last year. Our Aug medal was won by someone with a nett 64. How are people meant to play against people with clearly dodgy handicaps and getting so many shots?
He was off 7![]()
Yes, certainly in Somerset, Dorset and Devon to the best of my knowledge. It makes for a far quicker recovery and much better greens in winter.Played nine holes yesterday evening and found that the tees and green surrounds, some of which have been crying out to be dressed and seeded since winter, have just been done.
