Thought it was just me Ken, shortside yourself leaving a pitch over a bunker off some of these lies is a nightmare, I had one over the left greenside bunker on 17 tried to open the face a bit and shanked it into the burn, luckily just a bounce game, the walk of shame ...........

Ordering a new 5-wood from Mizuno and, having been given a delivery time of three weeks, it’s now three months. Minimum. So it will arrive towards the end of the season.

Thought as much. A mate played it too and messaged to say it was close to an abomination…strange, as when we played it in an Open a year or so ago the course and greens were in pristine condition

It is normally stunning every year when we play it in May - fairways lovely and the greens like carpet but they are shocking at the moment and they should be cancelling the Opens

A group of us are regular visitors there for opens. Others within that group have played twice so far this year and said the greens are full of fusarium - in a really shocking state.

A crying shame, because it’s always been a top day out at a really good venue.

At the very least they should contact entrants and give them the opportunity to cancel and have a refund.

We closed out 10th green for 5 or 6 weeks due to a similar issue.
One of the lowest greens on the course, it rarely dried out due to the constant rain.
Disease had a field day
Took the opportunity to rework all the bunkers and surrounds as well
The hole is now back to normal....can't imagine how you can do all greens and keep the course open let alone play Opens......

Didnt play over the weekend as my usual PP's wife was away on a Hen do so we said we would play Monday afternoon.

Weather lovely for it Saturday and Sunday.

Monday - rain showers all day, we tried to play (I had my best start so far at the new club) and lasted a whopping 3 holes before we came in...

Grrrrr rain
