Golf Random Irritations

PGA Tour Professional golfers "Aimpointing" a 2 foot flat putt.........

No issues with AP as such as long as it doesn't take too long but...really?
2 feet
And flat..?
Yeah, no need for that. He can't possibly have to aim outside the hole from two feet! Just hit it in fgs

21 points going out including five pars. 13 coming back with only one par.
I know that's not the worst, but all of my best eight scores and in my oldest twelve and I'm going to start losing them. Too many of the other scores in my last twenty are sh!t. I'm getting desperate for some good scores or I'll be going up.
Nice weather though!

Playing in the wind - I just can't do it. With my well-documented fade, as soon as there's a left to right wind I feel completely powerless. I aim 50 yards left, but I think my brain just can't compute it gets confused between knowing it's going to fade, and actively fading it because I'm aiming left. All my swing thoughts that have been working lately go straight out the window and I'm back to wildly slinging it and missing the fairway 50 yards right. And my course has several holes with OB right and it's always a left-to-right wind. Kills me every single time.

Steer clear of links course then! rarely get a flat calm day at my home course :ROFLMAO:

Stand closed, you'll naturally come over it putting a draw on the ball.

I'm quite fortunate in that I generally finish a season strongly, last year was no exception. As a consequence, I have nearly all my counting scores at the top and when comps recommence in April I'll have only one counting score to come off in my first ten rounds.

This is quite useful as I generally start a season badly.

None of this helps you of course, sorry 😁

Leave the driver (and other woods) in the bag. You play a shorter course anyway, focus on and do whatever it takes to keep it on the short grass.

I'm in a similar position. My 8 best scores are all in my most recent 12.
When comps start, I'll have 8 rounds where my HI can not go up.
So I am likely to come down a bit and then struggle to match the good scores that will be dropping off in quick succession.

I'm in this phase right now - and feeling the pressure. Maybe I should relax and accept an extra shot (or two).

Me three. I had a lovely period where I knew my handicap was protected by a load of old scores, but as the weather has gotten worse, I'm about to creep back up again pretty much every round, I suspect, unless I can get my ball striking sorted out

Narp! Not havin it 😄

Once you've gone horizontal you can't go back (just like switching to meters, yards just don't cut it anymore) ;)

I struggle to recall seeing any vertical scorecard that can fulfil boxes for 4 players gross & nett (or points) plus 2x pairs alliance scores plus a 4 person team score.
Lots of vertical cards can barely cope with a 3-ball and players are entering 2 numbers into one box with that silly diagonal line workaround

Horizontal is the only way to go (y)

Our vertical card had this problem once. A simple redesign which in the main removed the white boarders and the problem was solved.
At one time we did have a box for team score but the need for WHS ratings reduced the space and this disappeared.

My 20th round is my best round now (13.2 differential). So the next card I put in I'll be going up from 15.3 to 15.8 or 15.9 I believe. I'm thinking about doing a GP card this Sunday just to get it out of the way.

Sounds like manipulation to me sir 😬😅😉
Not at all, it's just not delaying the inevitable.

Since they lowered our course ratings, I would now have to break 80 in order to match/better the differential that I have coming off. Last year I broke 80 zero times - so the phrase 'cat in hell's chance' springs to mind. Last time I broke 80 off our white tees was July 2022.

Huge amount of people wanting to play Saturday morning.. I just could not spare the time so popped up at 3:30 in the afternoon to play. As I walked down the 8th around 4:30 the guy who was doing the 10am roll up was wondering to his car ..
The issue is stableford competition huge handicaps .. should limit it to 18 so people pick up and still put them in division.. the winners will still be the same people
