Golf Night??

I am suprised if GN has gone. Is it not that they just had a clash this weekend? I have to say the sunshine of africa nd Di do it fo me over Harmon and the jock, - too much yap and not enough golf with too many breaks.

all those digital channels and not one showing golf!

there's got be a market for one, even I would pay for a golf channel.

I wouldnt like a golf only channel for the simple reason that it would be impossible to cover all the tours and give equal coverage as there are tournaments that will clash with each other at some stage throughtout the schedule.....

And knowing Sky most of that coverage would probably be given to the USPGA....

I'm not talking about Sky, but the terrestrial digital channels (ie ESPN, Virgin) and though you're right about unequal coverage (which is all you would get on any channel) some would be better than none.

I think I might drop a line to Virgin.

I loved that programme until they put the female pro's on, does anyone remember Around with Alliss? that wasn't as good as pro celeb, and there was one with Tim brooke- taylor, cannot remember the name of that. I think we are due something along those lines back on. golf on the BBC is woefull these days.

and there was one with Tim brooke- taylor, cannot remember the name of that.
it was called "Golf Clubs with Tim Brooke-Taylor". he played a few holes with the club pro at various courses around the UK. Each programme lasted 1/2 hr. He even did one at Walton Heath!!!!!! :D

I remember the Tim Brooke-Taylor show. He did one at Downshire just down the road from me. Mike Reid also did a similar format as well. I'm sure there must be a niche for someone else to do something similar again. Its got to be better than wall to wall DIY on some of these home & leisure channels.

Might have to have a think about it and maybe write to some of these production company's. Anyone got any ideas on how to put a slightly different spin on it?

Shells Wonderful World of Golf has just started on Sky Sports 2. Showing the 1994 meet between Jack Nicklaus & Arnold Palmer at Pinehurst...classic not to be missed!!
