Golf Monthly Autumn Medal (forum day) 23rd September 2010...

I have never understood why someone would give up the chance to play a great track just because they might need to wear a tie afterwards. This would really limit the number and quality of the courses you might play.

It's not the jacket and tie keeping me away it's the price
I've been to loads of societies and never paid more than £35

I'm going to make the effort if the dates suit. GM know how to put on a golf day and I really enjoyed Castle Stuart. Great company and day. I will confirm ASAP.

Any other Scots fancy a cross border raid?

Well, me, except I am already across the border :D

One question before I say I am in.

The "food after" section, it appears to be a fairly snooty club, will golf attire be fine all day, or will they insist on suited and booted?

Hello.
Obviously Mike will come back with the official ruling on this one, but a group of us played there last year, which I might add included Smiffy, and a friendlier place you could not wish for, not a snoot insite, and we were all allowed upstairs. :o :o :D

they let Smiffy indoors!

Would love to add the course to my list but it is a busy time at graft and more so seeing as I am off for a week to Prague/Munich the week after.

It sounds a great course and all the reviews of it are top notch so enjoy!

Hi Mike, I'm a provisional yes I sent the mail to you, this will be my first GM meet up so want to make a special effort to get there.

Take it from me, Beau Desert is worth every penny. We paid £50.00 to play 18 holes there last year with no food, no prizegiving, nothing.
And I would gladly pay it again, it's that good.
I've never played in a society day that cost £35.00. Cheapest was £42.00 and that was on a right old goat track.
