Golf insurance renewal

Just got my renewal letter in from golf care, They want £38.99 and that includes £6 for an optional excess waiver without the 3 golf vouchers. Forget it it only cost me £22.99 last year i will phone to tell them i am not renewing and they will probably offer me the 3 vouchers and cover at the same price as last year.

Nearly as bad as all other types of insurance... no interest in customer retention!

I have had the same. As my home insurance covers me for injury to third parties I have decided not to renew. When I can get it for £20 ish I will reconsider.
£20 for new policyholders: £40+ for renewal. It's a rip off.

What a joke, just phoned them to not renew my policy and have been told i have to write saying i want to cancel my policy !, i told the fella i dont want to cancel i wish not to renew "same thing" he said what a load of bull.

Terms shown on their website http://www.golfcare.co.uk/terms_popup.htm:

Policyholders will be provided with the renewal terms no less than 14 days before expiry of the policy, or notified that the renewal is not being invited. Your insurance will automatically renew until either you or we cancel it using the payment details provided. No monies will be taken without prior notification. If you do not wish to renew your policy, you must inform us at any time up to 5 days before your renewal date.

It does not say that this has to be in writing. Only states that a mid term cancellation must be done in writing.

Just dont pay it .. ring in 3 months & enquire about a claim form , the will tell you your not covered as you didnt renew , you tel them but i didnt cancel as i didnt write to ye .. thatl p them right off ..

They're not the only ones. I was with The Golfers Club and took out Euro cover last year, cost £40 odd. Got my renewal and it's gone up 20% without any other 'freebies'. Went online and could get 20% off straight away - i.e last years price, and all the vouchers etc. I emailed them to tell them my disgust and they basically replied with "fine".

Going to find a decent cover next, looking at Carrick Neill's cover - any feedback?

Just emailed and they confirmed they will not renew !, so much for the 14 day written notice rubbish. Think i will get the golfers club as they have a few bargains for new subscribers anyone else got this ?
