We've had the whats in your bag thread but what about your golf clothes. Are you a fashion icon "Poulter style" or are you more of a traditionalist.

I tend to wear plain polo type golf shirts, normally Callaway although I do like some of the Nick Faldo 6 brand and have a couple of shirts from this range.

Personally I like to wear shirts to either match my trousers i.e blue shirt and navy trousers, contrast i.e white shirt and black trousers or if it is a big competition I wear my lucky red Callaway.

I have a black pair of Footjoys I wear with my blue, green trousers and tend to wear my blackand white Hi Tec shoes when wearing black trousers.

I must admit though I have gone slightly trendy this Summer and bought two pairs of Stromberg trousers, the navy ones with light blue contrasts and the black ones with white edges. Got them for a very reasonable £30 each.

Finally I like to wear either a black and white glove or a plain white one, except when I wear blue as I have to wear a blue one. Not sure why but I find it really off putting for some reason when I wear any type of blue.

There you go something to muse on. And go on be honest, have you ever bought something thinking you look the bees knees only for your partners to take the mickey something awful

Happy golfing

A polo top is pretty mandatory. Beyond that, a quick check to make sure I'm not wearing jeans is about the size of it. The concept of colour co-ordination and "fashion" is not something I have ever fully grasped.

Glove: whatever is in the "glove pocket" of my bag, currently a motley collection of half-knackered and totally knackered wares.

Hat: ah! now, I have a fine selection of 10+ baseball hats but unfortunately manage to ruin this story (if anyone is still reading) by selecting one based solely on its proximity to me at my time of leaving.

I have to admit to being "poulteresque" I have just ordered a pink cobra visor so that sort of puts me in that club methinks.

I am fairly flamboyant with my dress anyways, some would say bordering on homosexuality lol!

At the end of the day I think that dress sense is completely individual and if I want to dress in what I think is a stylish and extrovert way (some would say daft I'm sure) then thats my choice. Boring samey old slacks and shirt combos do nothing for me and hey..... my mrs and I first met as my clobber attracted her to me for the conversation to begin!

Yes people have been known to take the rise out of my hair-cuts and clothing choices but I'm a colourful character and I'm always comfortable with how I look.

I fall into the conventional category as well. Pair of black trousers, normally BHS or Marks, and a plain polo shirt. I wear black Hi-Tec shoes with black trousers and my brown and white Footjoys with anything else. My gloves tend to be black and white but through no great purpose but a white and purple Mizuno one appears to have crept into my bag as well. I am large bloke so many of the more flamboyant options either do not fit or, more importantly, look totally wrong on me. I have a lucky black Srixon cap that finishes off the ensemble.

This "summer" I've been mainly wearing waterproofs.
On the occasional days when it's been dry I tend to be a bit boring Black/Beige chinos with a white/blue polo top. Black Footjoys and a white glove. No hat.
Lucky pants if it's a big match.

Got to confess to having become a bit of a Lindberg man. Bought a white pair and black pair of the trousers and altho they look dead flashy they are superb and been good this summer as had the odd shower and they are a bit waterproof as well.

Normally get some abuse for tight, bright shirts i wear now from some of my mates but never mind, i look and play better than my mates anyway

I must confesss to taking a bit of a liking to the Lindberg stuff when it first came out, but I really like the vintage Lyle and Scott range that I used to wear in the 80's as a young lad, but has made a bit of a recovery thanks to some trendy indie band (can't say which one).

Tend to go for the grey trousers with the blue/green/red contrast, with varied assortment of polos ranging from lime green to good old white.

Also partial to some of the bright and spangly sweaters.

Most of my mates think I look like a bit of a pillock, but I care not a jot.

It's supposed to be fun isn't it?

The problem with golf fashion is that there are still relatively few cool brands. The result is that every amateur who wears lindberg looks like a European Tour wannabe. I'd far rather fade into the background and let my golf do the talking.. or not as the case usually is.

I like to think of myself as a bit of a rebel, but probably am not. I like zip-offs (instant shorts) and have one excellent water resistant pair, which have done ulu (jungle) duty - never seen any since. Otherwise cargo or chinos.
Usually polo shirts - unbuttoned (it's a neck thing, rarely wear a tie anymore). Don't wear white on our course - attracts the lbb's (little biting b-----s).
Hate polos, can't stand sweaters. Also don't do designer - if they want the stuff advertised they can pay me - not me pay a fortune to do it for them.
White Footjoys, trainer socks, black Footjoy glove - not a political statement, it fitted best.
Specially made glasses, prescription 90%distance/10% reading with blue lenses (makes white stand out on green).

I really like the loud swedish look though much as though I have tried to work it it's not happening. Think Darren Clarke - it's just not cool.
Find Nike sooo boring and adidas okay but too sporty. Love Hugo Boss and Oscar Jacobon- smart, tailored then I ruin it by pulling out a screwed up windtop c1998 and wollie hat cos I'm freezing on the 3rd hole!

The thing I hate more than anything is getting paired with a knob at a medal who turns up in the pink ping 'SLACKS' and matching top with the feck off pink 360 tour shoes and then knocks his tee shot into the bundai. By all means wear it but please do it justice.

Me?

Cream golf trousers, nike drifit t-shirt and a bright green Tommy Hilfiger jumper with my powerband shoes. Just got lovely Callaway Argyll top for winter and AM WEARING IT NOW COS ITS FREEZING.

Damn, must stop wearing those pink ping clothes now winter is on us.

Wear can I get the matching pink shoes?

Further note: the fusion pink trousers are a different shade to the fusion pink top (yes, I have both). This means they cannot be worn together as it looks rubbish. Lime green is obviously the colour to wear with pink trousers.

I am like a magpie when i'm in a golf shop, my eye is drawn to the bright and shiny things.

My only fear is having to get out of the car on the way to the golf club.
