Hi all, I am new to playing golf and have just bought some Harold Bird golf clubs, does anyone know if they are any good, they are in excellent condition and only been used a few times. Also I noticed there was not a driver with the set but 3 woods (1, 3, 5)am I correct in thinking the 1 wood is actually the driver?
Any help would be useful.

"H. Bird & Sons (or something like that) is a company based in Aldridge, W. Mids, also now known as 'Pinseeker'. They make 'low end' stuff."

And yes a 1 wood is a driver.

Welcome to the forum..

Hi Bernie and welcome.
You are right in that the driver can be referred to as the one wood. Its not such a bad thing not having a driver as its the hardest club in the bag to hit. Get used to the three wood before think about adding a driver.
I must admit that I havent heard of this make, but that dosnt make them good or bad clubs. As a beginner, its fine to have such a set and not shell out loads on a more well known make.
Let us know how you get on - theres lots of knowledge on this forum that can help, although there is no substitue for seeing your local PGA pro for a few lessons.
Good luck!

Cheers for the info Alex, I did not want to spend too much money on them just in case I don't last long haha.
In hind site I should have joined this site and got some more info, I managed to get the whole set plus bag and trolly for £100, so I guess that's not too bad, is it.

Thanks for the advice Matt, I've never played a round of golf in my life, but have started taking my son to the driving range and it's been good fun.
I'm gonna get some practice in and learn a few things before I try them out on a golf course.
