im going to put myself in the firing line here.
for what its worth i hate buggies, AS A RULE, you will have two players in a buggy, and rarely does it happen that both players hit their ball in the same area. this then slows up speed of play as you have to wait for player one to play before the buggy is reloaded up with both players, off to the ball of the other player an so on. its even worse this time of year where courses restrict the accessible areas that buggys can go to.
we have some old boys at our club who simply wouldnt be able to play without the use of one, and for that i support the use of buggys, but when you have able bodies people using them through nothing more than because they are lazy fookers, then i have to go against it.
Lets be honest, as a sport its not the most physically demanding. If anything the walk between shots is the only excercise alot of people have. Me personally i enjoy the walk between shots, its when i mark cards, clean clubs or more importantly clear my head from the last bad shot, or focus on the shot coming up.
