GM Forum Country Club - WGT Online golf game

[Big D 88]

Following on from the WGT thread earlier today, and Rooters decision to hand over the club to myself

I have added a new tournament - the 1st of many i hope

hopefully we can get some new members to sign up, and existing members to come back to playing the game.

The new tournament is a single play 4 rounds of Pebble Beach.

I'll post a leader board up with every round that been played

P.s - anyone who isnt a member, PM or post here your email address, there is an 'invite friends' promotion whereby if i email you with the invite and you sign up, we both receive free 'virtual callaway balls'

If you already have an account, you can search country clubs on the WGT website and search for Golf Monthly Forum. From there you request entry and i'll accept

Just played St Andrews, there is no logic to the wind ;-) , 14 wind straight against, 15 straight behind, 16 its into off the left

For those that haven't been there those holes are in a straight line


Short game is so difficult as everything runs forever so its hard to get used to and I have no idea how the lie percentages work when you are in the rough/sand. Ended up level off the front tees which I'm guessing is ok

It takes time to work out lie percentages and the correct place to land for differing shots. I use decent balls as they react better to wedges. Them rocks u get to start with ate brutal lol

Brutal indeed. At least I shot to my real handicap... Ouch!

Just played the first round of the comp and Christ, putting is a nightmare.....or at least I makenitntjst way!!

Looked at distance, factored in the slope and worked out percentage only to see the ball shoot 15ft past!!

Lost count of the amount of times I was GIR only to 3 (or 4) putt!!
