OK you Guys north of the boarder i know you have the best golfing country up there but how about places to eat once you have finished on the links?

There are 20 of us from a long established society staying at the Ramada in Glasgow the weekend of 26th sept.
We are looking for a good restauant preferably Italian where we can eat on the Friday night.

If not italian then any type indian, chinese whatever.

And to be realy cheeky if you have phone numbers that would be fantastic ;)

L'Ariosto Italian Restaurant on Mitchell Street is probably the best. The down side is that they don't have prices on their menus.

92 Mitchell St,
Glasgow,
G1 3NQ
Tel: 0141 221 0971

You also have Anti Pasti on Sauchiehall St. and the noodle bar Wagamama on West George Street.

I have been to Glasgow a few times and have been to merchant city for Italian at this place http://www.italian-kitchen.co.uk/ Never had a bad meal....fantastic steak and great wines too. Not a million miles from your hotel and within walking distance of all the bars afterwards.

Indian? http://www.motherindia.co.uk cracking curry, not cheap though and a but a bit further out.

That said, I live in Kent, so you should probably go with Madandra's suggestions ;o)

L'Ariosto is nice.

A couple of other alternatives:

Fratelli Sarti - www.sarti.co.uk 0141 204 0440
Sannino pizzeria - Bath street. www.sanninopizzeria.co.uk.
Pizza Hut? :D

All within a short walking distance of the Merchant City. There loads of nice bars and restaurants in that area if you don't fancy italian.

You could always jump in a taxi and head for the west end.
Ashton Lane is the place to be on a friday night!

Also, that weekend is a local holiday in Glasgow - the town should be lively that evening.

Is this a golfing trip and,if so, where are you playing?

Craig

Yes its a golfing trip we are playing at Glasgow Gailes, Lochgreen, and Belleisle.

Thanks all for the info

I used to be there lots of times in the past ex wifes parents in Hynland then moved to Bearsden came across loads of good eateries back then in those two areas.

Italian Kitchen is great.
Plenty good restaurants in Glasgow. Not been for a couple of years but Nippon Kitchen has always been good.
If you like tapas, cafe Andaluz is good.

Got to be record, commenting randomly on a thread where the last post was almost 14 years ago

Yes, looks very dodgy. First post ever and drags up a 14-year old thread to recommend - and show a link - to a restaurant in a totally different city.
