Getting Coranated

Mrs has organised a garden party, which has now turned into a lounge party. I shall be sat on the sofa drinking copious amounts of alcohol to get me through the day!

Family buffet lunch on Saturday, bunting to go up, Union Jack windmills for the grandchildren, we'll be watching the whole event. Whether or not you support the monarchy the coronation will be an important part of British history. If you don't want to watch it enjoy your golf or whatever it is you will be doing.

Pal of mine was playing at Woodhall spa yesterday. A formation of 12 typhoons went over, he said the sight and sound was amazing. Practice for the Kings flight maybe 🤔
New fangled rubbish! Nothing will ever beat the sound of a Tornado GR4 formation. Although to launch 12, you'd need at least 30 jets serviced and ready to go, with a good 18 crewing out :ROFLMAO:

Must be weird waiting your whole life for your mum to die so you can get her job. I wouldn't be looking forward to teaching primary 7 in my sixties!

Oh bog off!
Plenty money being pumped into the economy from this event.
1 million job vacancies in the UK apparently too.

Perhaps the money spent on this could be spent on feeding the poor and homeless, providing homes for the homeless, increasing salaries so those job vacancies you mention are more attractive etc etc.

Imagine bowing to a king in 2023. Britain has a serious collective mental illness to think this crap is normal. This island is very much heading towards peak North Korea territory.

Feeling quite conflicted.
I'm not a royalist, but I'm not anti.
I'm not religious, but respect others' right to be.
I'm a patriot, but not a jingoistic nationalist.
I played golf this morning but switched the TV on when I got in, just because I thought it's a bit of history I should witness. I had to turn it off. I feel almost embarrassed. It's like watching some weird extreme cult playing out a bizarre ceremony, yet it's the full leadership of my country.

Do I detect a slight feeling against the ceremony?

He can have a ceremony if he wants, if he pays for it out of his own pockets.

Which he isn't btw, he's using public funds, which could be better spent solving or contributing to solving the serious issues this country has as millions live in poverty.

Particularly in the suppression of protest today, quite dystopian really.

Public coffers will be given a massive boost today

And to even think it’s anywhere near the levels of North Korea is a bit pathetic.

The coronation today is expected to boost the economy by £1bn
