Which is fine for me. I have no hang ups over what happened with Lady Di. In marriages, and relationships in general, stuff happens that one or both parties come to regret, but for which forgiveness is given - often shared - to enable both individuals to move on with their lives. And Lady Di had moved on and seemed very happy.

As if some folk aren't subjugating themselves enough we now have this ^^^ as well as ........ A cabinet minister has said he “hopes people do” swear the proposed oath to the king on the day of his coronation, as Republicans described it as “an offensive and tone-deaf gesture that holds the people in contempt”.
So who's going to be joining in this big SHOUT-OUT ???

Nah why break the habit of a lifetime. On another issue I sold a few ex pit memorabilia yesterday to a guy in Yorkshire. We had a good old natter about the strike.

Town centre looking rather fine with Union Flags and Union Flag bunting. Just enough, not over the top.

We are going to a show up London tomorrow evening, and one reason we chose tomorrow was so that we could go up early and walk The Mall, Horseguards, and Westminster Abbey. Well as best we can.

Regardless of everything else…I just think that the view looking down The Mall from Admiralty Arch to Buck Palace is rather thrillingly magnificent when the flags are out.

Think I’ll renew my Scout Promise…given what I said those 55yrs ago is now out of date and I still try and live to it (original wording with the one obvious change).

I have no problem with either royalists or republicans having their opinions/rants, whether it be about the oath of allegiance or the U.K. should move on to more of an elected President as head of state. Free speech and all that guff… why oh why do some from both sides of the argument label the others as servile/commies or whatever? It’s not an argument that will not make any headway either way. The institution of the monarchy will, I expect, slowly fade to something along the lines of the monarchy in The Netherlands and one day further down the line even further still.

Enjoy it for what it is or just go and do your own thing. One way or another it won’t affect our life one jot.
