Getting Coranated

Mixed depending on a number of factors. My FiL lives in a village of older people. Bunting is out, he is going to a house party for everyone in his street to celebrate the day.

No street parties where I live, market town. Quite a few people asking if anyone is organising one but no one actually prepared to do it. Bunting out in the town, council are very sharp on matters like that, but nothing otherwise.

No major buzz I'd say but then I'm someone who will be golfing that day, as per royal weddings, funerals etc so I may not be the best person to judge.

Party at the bowls club. Bunting going up this week. Food ordered, as is the band. Raffle prizes already in, plus a few special prizes, and games. Double order into the brewery, delivery Thursday.

Since when did being crowned become coronated?

Coronated means having a crown stuck on your head it does not mean being crowned the King/Queen.

Still struggling to understand this post 🤷‍♂️

A coronation is also the whole ceremony and marks the formal investiture to give the monarch regal power.

And please can the OP be changed to coronation

The coronation (noun) is the ceremony at which the sovereign will be coronated.(verb transitive). Or in English, the hoo-ha of giving Brian a new hat.

I will be playing golf.

Couldn't give a flying one personally. Plenty in the UK will be out 'celebrating' but really it's just any excuse to have a session on the bank holiday. Hopefully I'll simply get an extra round of golf in, just as I will this weekend.

I know the big church in my town is showing it on a large screen and inviting everyone along.
Not sure of anything else yet.
We'll be watching it at home, perhaps with some plonk to celebrate the event.

I'll dip in and out of watching it... I'm no royalist but I'm also not anti. I think sometimes we take them for granted in relation to what they add to our country and how they make us different.

Like most things these days, people seem to look for/ concentrate on the negative points rather than the good.

Our cul-de-sac is having a street party…organiser is putting bunting up over the road and we’ll shut the top half of the road. We had a lovely street ’get together’ with the jubilee street party, this is just another reason for one. We have an active road WhatsApp group so we are pretty together anyway. I’ll be doing my part getting tables from church.

Hoping for good weather.

The Mrs will probably watch it.
While I'm not anti-Royals, these things - matches, despatches etc - absolutely bore the pants off me.
So I'll be playing at some point and then doing anything else to avoid it.....

In Ayrshire the heather seems unlikely to be set on fire by next weeks regal event.
How are things going where you live.

Is the ceremonial motor home not getting decorated in bunting??😁

Plenty of houses decorated in our street, I will try to avoid the whole thing as the idea of Camilla being called The Queen of England revolts me.
