I picked up my Garmin 3 from Tesco's yesterday and was checking it out this morning and when ever I zoomed into the green view it comes up with a "hint" to touch anywhere on the screen to move the flag. Does anyone know how to turn the hints off as,even as an oldie, I don't need telling everytime

Thanks in advance

Hi Chris,

Thats interesting.............

I also bought one from tesco. I received mine last week, and have now used it a couple of times, and it seems to do what it is supposed to and I'm quite pleased with it.

I do recall, that the first time that I tried it at home in preview mode, I got this prompt. However I have just turned mine on, and I now cannot get the hint. So my guess is that it is something built in, and after you have used it properly, you won't get the hint. MAYBE..........

good luck

Ian

I have the same thing with mine. I think it maybe just on preview mode or as Ian above says on until its been used on a proper round. Im testing it out for real tonight so will post any findings :)

HINT : Do not thin it OOB through the green!

If I ever design a GPS that's what will come up as you get near the green.

Used the Garmin tonight and quality piece of kit. That message goes off after press the green detail twice i think. Only played 12 holes and got 4 birdies and put the ball a lot closer than usual which made it much easier :D I usually get lots of pars and hardly any birdies so it made a difference to me having a definative yardage.

I also dont hit the ball as far as i thought with every club! Reset my yardages to something more realistic and it worked a treat.
