GAPR advert

I haven't seen it once this time, but then adblocker plus is always running on my system.:)
It must be the best bit of anti-product advertising out there, TM should be very happy:LOL:

Well it's not bothering me anymore as I have an ad blocker. However this means I'm now unable to read previously free newspaper sites as they've noticed I'm using an ad blocker...

I suppose the easiest option is to buy a second computer, one with an ad blocker to use this site and one without to use everywhere else...

Please GM, can we sort this?

An exemplary example of how not to advertise to potential clients, TM if your reading this I'm sure most people find it at the very least very annoying, personally it would completely put TM off the radar for any new equipment I am considering.

Is it TM or is it GM though? For me it seems that there are issue with how the site shows the advert and should really be tested on the platform before putting it out live. Personally I would put the blame with the IT bods at GM as being absolutely clueless and I have raised the issue with Mike on Twitter a number of occasions. If I were an advertiser, specially TM as it is they that seem to have the issues on this site I would be asking for some answers. The forum is unusable without an ad-blocker which means that TM are paying for something that they are not getting.

Hmm, I get your point, but I would have thought that TM would want to know what they are paying for, if my company were annoying potential clients the way this does I would not be best pleased.

But it always seems to happen with Taylomade ads so my guess is that they're perfectly aware of the situation and it's their intention that their adverts do this.
I've accidentally clicked the links and gone onto their sites countless times (whoops, just done it again when going back to edit a bit of the above) and I'm sure that their marketing people love the high click rate they get, even if it does annoy a lot of people. Whether they'll actually lose sales from this is debatable, everybody likes a moan but if they're offering an extra 10 or 15 yards (real or imagined) with their latest super-tech-gizmo then people will be queuing up to buy.

I'd also imagine that they pay very good money for this "enhanced" advertising so you can't really blame GM for hosting it, times are exceedingly hard in the magazine world right now....

Installing an adblocker, never needed to before but I literally cannot click anywhere on the page without the add opening and there isn't an "x" to close it.

cant even select the new posts option without getting the advert over and over again, rather raise the brand profile it has the opposite effect.

The issue I have is that why aren’t GM making sure the advert isn’t adversely affecting the site? You cannot cancel the ad so you have to install an adblocker to use the site. This means any other paying advertiser is being negatively affected by the incompetence of the people on the website i.e. GM themselves. It’s not a hard fix if you have any sort of ability which you’d assume they would have.

If it is the fault of the TM ad remove it and ask them to sort it out.
