It'll be the new bats first outing tomorrow, I've hit a few on the practice ground and I love the feeling of how they contact the ball, they feel really powerfull and really seem to thud into the back of the ball. Fingers crossed it will go well, if not I'm giving up and joining the girl guides or summat.

Hi Drawboy

Good luck with the new bats!!

Just out of interest I was considering stepping up to the G20's as I have the G15's at the moment.

Have you any idea how they compare to the G15's feel wise etc?

Good luck with the new raquets. Give us some feedback. I've got S57's but I'm thinking of trying to find something easier to hit...

Good luck with them Geezer.
Just don't make the mistake of relaxing, thinking the clubs will do all of the work. Easiest mistake to make and you will come off feeling depressed. Give them a good whack, make them earn their keep.
I remember the first time out with my MX200's. Thought that because they were custom fitted, I didn't even have to try. Wrong!!! I felt like lobbing them in the lake at the 18th that day.
Didn't make that mistake with my i15's and got on with them from day one.

Right I'm back and full of myself. Today was an individual Stableford Qualifier and with new bats in the bag I was a tad nervous. I have used Mizuno for years so a change to Ping was an unknown quantity.
Result 42 points off 13, 21 front, same back. That's a shot off first go out.Delighted, if the birdie puts had fallen, but hey! we can all say that.
They really thud into the back of the ball and the height difference is night and day, no loss of distance but much higher launch just what I've been after. Things can only get better as I get used to them.
I used to snide at clubs with wide soles calling them shovels but I've been wrong to avoid the obvious game improvement qualities of them.
They'll do for me.

How do you find them for finesse shots DB....
My younger brother uses G15 and has been for the past 6 months but he cant warm to them at all....

He feels more confident with a smaller headed club in his hands...

I hit a few chips with them, they were ok. It will take longer though to learn what they are good at when it comes to chipping, how hard to hit them, what loft to take and so on but no real problems so far.

Good stuff.....
If todays round is anything to go by you'll be single figures by next summer....

I played yesterday....I hit 9 fairways with my driver probably the best day iv had with it since i bought it........ they were all down the middle...

But missing greens is where its wrong...
My short game yesterday crucified me....

Iv always wondered that if the straightest point between A and B is the best way to go then if we swallowed some pride and chose clubs to help that then maybe we'd be better for it and enjoy the game alot more.

TBH that's what I've done, yeah the mizuno's look the dogs kahunas in the bag but when I miss greens they do not start to look as good. The pings do look hideous at the side of the sleek Mizzies but on the end of my arms they out perform the Mizuno's hands down. I've swallowed my pride and owe all Ping owners a large apology.

Well in fairness im playing i10's...
To be honest they're not all that bad...But miss hit one and ill be 10-15 yards short..

I find them easy enough to hit though...
They would be a hell of a lot more user friendly than the equivalent mizzy offerings
