Frank Lampard retires

It is isn't but the US is a long way from a top league. Players go out there if they are either not good enough for a top league or when their legs have gone. It is a pension top up, a last hurrah. Look at the players out there. None are top players in their prime.

I think that view is a little out dated.

China is mopping up professionals in their prime and American leagues are fully fledged.

The world is not defined by two or three countries top leagues anymore.

I think the football world IS still defined by the leading European Leagues. I agree the US leagues are established but so are the Irish, Welsh and Scottish leagues that doesn't meant that they are capable of attracting top players in their prime either. China is different in that they are posing a moral question to some of the leading players....Do you want cash or a careeer ??? I see that Messi, Ronaldo, Aguero, et al are still plying their trade in the leading leagues which tells me all i need to know.

One of the best of his generation.
How much would he be worth in his prime today?
A midfielder that scores so many goals is massive for the team.

Some goal scoring record for a midfielder, didn't realise he was 4th in the list of EPL top-scorers!

Did he finish as Chelsea's top scorer also?

Incredible really.

While I stand to be corrected he appeared to have that very rare commodity amongst footballers - a brain.

Superb footballer and as far as I'm aware a credit to the game.
