Went to buy a few clubs yesterday and tried most of the 3 woods and almost all the hybrids, have to say i aint that keen on the hybrids so will stick to a 5 wood, they just felt akward at address so i only bought a 3 wood tried most of them and settled for a callaway diablo octane 3 wood.

Have you looked at Nike VR hybrids as they are small headed, looking like irons? Or Mizuno DLR, such as MP Fli-Hi (just being replaced by MP-H4s).

Just a thought.

I also am not a huge fan, i am very much an iron person so i only have one hybrid in place of a 2 iron. I found out i dislike woods ages ago so i have built my set around what suits me best.

They do have their place, some people like me dont like woods so they are a good half way instead of a 2 iron. Some prefer woods so opt for 9 and 7 woods instead. Its all personal preference!

I wasn't a fan either. Believe it or not my irons go right down to a 1 iron, which I can use easily. I'm not a big hitter so I was only getting around 210yards from it. But I could only use it ( as with the 2 and 3 iron ) off the tee or on a fairway. But with my Taylor Made hybrid I can take it into semi-rough and in most cases the long rough and still get a good hit and around 200yards. So the 1 Iron is no longer in my bag.

I'm not a big fan. They "go" well and I get good distance (and height), but I can't hit one as straight as a fairway wood.

Real men use Irons:-))

Its the most versatile club in the bag imo. They take some getting used to but as long as you swing it like an iron and not a wood you should find it is an easy club to use.
