Back in the 90s I was great with fairway metals. Somehow, someway I lost it in the last few years. In 2018 I was playing the Taylormade M2 Three an Five. For some reason I cannot remember I switched to the Callaway Mavrik Three and Five. They went sour so I found the Taylormade M2 High Launch Three and Five which are really a Four and Seven lofts. In 2022 I decided to switch to the TM Stealth HL Three and Seven. While I liked them when I demoed them, I ended up selling them to a friend. I then tried the Callaway Paradym HL Three and Heavenwood. They really never performed as well on the course as the did when I demoed them. Yesterday I just bought Ping G430 Three and Five. I added a degree and a half to each and they performed really well today on the range. Tomorrow is the acid test as I'll be playing eighteen with the new bats. Hopefully the seven year search is over. Am I crazy, of course; all golfers are a little bit nuts.

I have the G425 SFT (16°) and it's the easiest 3 wood I've ever hit by an absolute mile. Ping know what they're doing with woods.

I use Titliest now, no problem at all, but a couple of weeks back I went down to the local park and hit half dozen balls with it, then half dozen with my very old Callaway Big Bertha Ward Bird.

You could have thrown a blanket over most of them.

My search for a fairway that will work off the tee and off the deck is an ongoing process...
Most of them work off the tee with no issues..off the deck I never seem to get much more out of it than I do my hybrid ..
Always struggle with launch u less it's a 7 wood when it goes into orbit......

Thanks for the input. I actually didn't pay full retail for any of these. I usually buy preowned or last year's model. Obviously, I have throw a lot of money at this problem, but it's my only hobby except reading and yard work. I do feel like the Pings are the answer. I guess we'll see soon.

OK , First of all I admit I am a moron. In my search for the perfect fairway metal, I have figured out that my TM M2 high launch are the best for my game. I've spent hundreds to finally get it. I played today with the new Pings and could not get them to perform. No reflection on them. I'm sure they are great clubs. It's just this 75 year old cannot get them airborn. My 42 year old son will probably be thrilled with them. My goal is to break 80 when I play from just under 6000 yards. I did it maybe a dozen times last year. Hopefully, my new knee will allow that to happen again this year.

I find fairway woods is one area of equipment that I don’t hit any better than the woods of say 15/20 years ago. I play Titleist TSi2 just now and it’s fine but I can remember older models like 980f for example that I’d definitely hit just as good and probably better
