Actually I have quit a job due to unnecessary repetative ridicule and abuse from the purile who know no better, so I understand where Homer is comming from a little, only Homer didnt do what I did to the extreme banter merchants just before I left, so to speak, the boss at the time said "If you hadnt done what you did, I had plans to get rid of those two comedians" (which he later did) I see this not about micky taking or Banter as some seem to think it harmlessly is, no, its more a question of humour value in the first place as well as repetativeness. We can all find ourselves making humourous comment inadvertantly, but when it is clear someone is peeved or offended and it is clear, then that is when the intelligent stop it and the ignorant and foolish continue. Happens all the time and just because some think that because it happens it should be accepted no matter what, is all part of the problem.
There are always those who never drink from the cup of 'shut the heck up' when they should do, as they feel they have the right to drink from the cup of 'Do what the heck I like' all too often regardless of who they offend.

I'm sorry but even with the support I've had on here and via PM fear I've become a Graham Taylor or Steve McClaren and it is now a poisoned chalice and wish to leave my pages to speak for the work I put in a leave it at that. I'm more than happy to advise or assist my successor if they want my opinions.

Good grief.
I've missed all this over the weekend and cannot believe how (mostly) grown men have been acting.
And even in a thread where Mike is just trying to get someone to do the forum pages in the mag (it is only 2 pages people, not as I have said before translating Voltaire into Arabic) it has become a ridiculously self-indulgent 'woe is me' piece, drawing allusions to Shylock and media witch-hunts.
Staggeringly pathetic on so many levels.
Mike, I hope you find someone to do the work you need (assuming you think the 2 pages are worth all this grief for editing) and that the forum returns to some sort of sense soon (excuse the alliteration for sibillant strugllers!).
Now all of you - behave

So from what I have read here a witch hunt has taken place over the course of the weekend. I wasn't party to that nor do I know what this thread is all about although my mind is racing.
Anyway, back to the topic, I have had a public go at Homer in the past,(although I didnt get personal or at least I hope I didnt come across that way, and we did communicate via PM) however he has done a good job in colating all the forum drival and provided a decent forum page every month for the magazine and for that he deserves credit and a bit of thanks. YOU CANT PLEASE EVERYONE. Its very easy to knock people however he has done it in his own time without payment. Ok he got a few perks here and there from MikeH which I would agree and accept is fair enough.
Homer take a break for a couple of weeks like I did then come back and enjoy the forum again.

I hope someone does pick up the job, as I do like the feature in the magazine. It would be a shame if it dies. Homer was doing a fine job, and I hope the next guy/girl can continue in a similar vein.
For somone to put themselves out to do this feature, every month, is quite an ask. Easy some months when something big and exciting happens, but there must be months when there is very little of interest. All for the love of doing it.
