Afternoon everyone,

Something for any interested parties to perhaps mull over during the Christmas break - I am looking for someone to put together the regular 'GM on the Web' forum spread in the magazine from the May issue onwards.

As some of you may know, colint who had been doing it for some time has had some health issues this year, and understandably no longer feels able to devote the time to it while he continues to recover and gets back up to speed with his full-time job.

The feature is likely to remain essentially as it is at the moment, with perhaps the odd tweak from the May issue - I've attached (hopefully) a jpeg of the Jan issue here.

Any interested parties will need...

1) Sufficient spare time to allow you to meet the monthly deadline (which sadly doesn't move!).
2) The ability to write in an entertaining manner, and to edit copy back from selected forum threads to meet the appropriate word counts.

I should stress that this is an unpaid role, though we will be able to offer the successful candidate occasional goodies from the fabled GM equipment cupboard and the chance to see their name in print both on the article itself and in the mast-head at the front of the magazine

If you're interested, drop me an email in the first instance (jezz_ellwood@ipcmedia.com) and I will provide further details in due course... and perhaps set a small writing/editing test!

Just like to say what a great job Colint has done, and wish him all the best. Good luck to whoever takes over, a hard act to follow.

I always assumed that it was done by the pro staff writers from GM Towers - shows how good Colin is.

Get well soon

- if someone is looking for voluntary work there are better causes.

Get well soon Colin. I was tempted until I saw the standard of his work and think I'll just stick to being Press Officer for my club !

But this is a golf forum, other causes wouldnt be on here, but you go for them.

I really enjoyed doing it when the fourm pages first came up and Colin did a fantastic job taking over and really moved it forward another notch. I'm sorry he's not able to carry on and hope his health improves.

Since the page(s) was put into gm, I have enjoyed reading it. Homer, then colint, have done a fine job. I hope we get a Similar quality replacement. Good luck to any who apply.

Would like to add my thanks to Colint for the stint as Forum scribe, well done!

I do hope your health improves soon.

Good luck to whoever takes over.

why would you even bother saying that...:confused:

it just shows that most people are grateful and would love to do the job even though it's voluntary and then there's the others:(
