Fore !!!!!

You dont need to worry about it on our course , theres only 2 holes that you're gonna have the chance to hit anyone anyway. The rest are pretty much separated by massive trees or arent anywhere near another hole.

However when playing with people who are a tad wonky when driving I will shout for them and use my right/left and let the other buggers worry about where its coming from.

Always shout left or right.
In actual fact. If you shout fore left and the ball is going to an adjacent left fairway with players coming towards me, that is ALSO their left. Ditto for right. Very few fairways that are adjacent to each other run same way.
If they are on my fairway and i've hit the ball too early. They would also be facing same way as me so left is their left etc..

What if they are on a submarine going up the Moray Firth?
;)

I shout "Fore" and will point to the direction in which the ball is going. Most of the holes at Aberdour have the potential for striking golfers on adjacent holes. There is also a public footpath running alongside 3 holes on the back nine where a hooked drive can have dog walkers and ramblers running for cover.

Well you have a choice Left/Port/Red or Right/Starboard/Green or 'Under and Below' if like Vitalstatix you're worried about the sky falling on your head
