my rusty escort is coming to the end of its life and need to replace however after having had a fiesta and borrowed a focus and fusion in days gone by and not being able to load clubs in without removal or driver I was wondering if anyone can confirm if a c max has room in the boot to fit a bag in with all clubs inside.

I used to have a Mondeo and the boot space is huge, enough for 2 sets of clubs, bags and trolleys. But I thought the C Max's were jacked up Focuses so I'd expect the boot space to be similar to them, not Mondeo's? And it's the S Maxs with the big boot as they are the bigger SUV. But I could well be wrong.

I would be a bit wary of the mini SUVs and boot space as I went from a Sportage which I could easily fit my bag/bats in to a Q3 and I do struggle now, so much so that I put the bag on the back seat as it is easier than squeezing it in the boot or lowering a back seat to fit it in. I also remember looking at Yeti's and Kugas and the boot space in them was not great either. You need to check the width as I think in capacity terms the Sportage and Q3 are very similar, but the Sportage's boot was wider so could fit a driver in easily. Where as the Q3s is narrower.

Nice to see a thread like this as my car (a Renault scenic) kind of died last week.....it would gobble up all of my golf stuff with ease. I think I'm going to go Vauxhall insignia shopping this weekend.....

Is that new shape? Parents have original shape and stand bag doesn't fit.

HID had just measured width if a cmax at 107cm doesn't seem wide enough..

That's the model before the current one. The specific car is a 2010. We get two sets of clubs and one trolley in the boot, but the bag that's put in second is very tight on the driver. First one slips in no problem.

I'm sure there'as a new Mondeo coming along soon so you may get a sweet deal on the existing model. I know it's a bit old now but mine was lovely, one of the best cars to drive I've had. So you may get a bargain with a lot of extras thrown in, mine had digital radio, voice controlled this and that, swiveling headlights and other things and that was well over 5 years ago. And as noted, the boot was huge. And if you go for the estate version you could probably fit all the clubs/bags and trolleys of a 4ball in that boot.

The Mrs used to have a CMax, it was a pretty old model, i think we are talking around 2007, but there was no way a driver or even a 3 wood was going in that boot.

Skoda Octavia is great for 4 sets. What......?;)

The Skoda Superb, is a cracking car, and possibly slightly bigger, but definitely more luxurious.

The fitting process is quite cheap, as well......:)

In my old Mondeo we fitted 4 golf bags and two trolleys, bit tight but it was done! Also fitted three bags, three trolleys and three weekend bags for a trip away.
I liked it so much I bought a new one and it's huge!

The insignia actually has a lot less space than you'd imagine
Even the insignia estate car my cousin owns, has less space than mine

I've Mondeo
Fit mine and my sons trolleys plus bags, with plenty room to spare

I saw this thread earlier and just been to pick my focus up after a service. They had a c max in there, new in the show room. Very nice looking vehicle and this one had good spec. Plenty of room in the boot, but square shape, might poss have to remove driver from bag as I do in my car.
