Has anyone got a pair?i might get them because my mums not always going to be there to tie my laces for me.
I had a pair of puma discs and they snapped, wondered if the footjoys last long and are durable etc. No doubt about the comfort factor! theyre a bit too dear to buy if they're going to break

A few guys from the GM office have used Reelfits for the last few months and speak very highly of them. They are particularly good this time of year when it is so cold you struggle to tie your laces!

Have a couple of friends who have them and like them, although occasionaly they seem to undo by themselves. But hey if they do your not going to trip over your laces....

A couple of my regular golfing buddies have them and say they are really good. Nice and comfy and waterproof (one year guarantee I believe). I never really bought into the design and much prefer lace upss.

I'm looking forward to the Footjoy "pods" which I understand should be hitting the shops pretty soon. Anyone seen any previews? I read that they were going to be a replacement for the Dryjoy so you might be able to get a good deal on those after about March. I love Dryjoys and have used them for years. One of my pairs of shoes are black Dryjoys and must be 3-4 years old, Once polished they still look like new and are still pretty good at keeping my feet dry.

Ah, the Reelfit. How I love thee with your Matrix knob on my heel and finger-friendly nature in yon winter months.

Seriously, I love these. Took approximately one round before they felt as comfortable as anything. Incredibly good grip, even in this hellish weather and as yet, not a hint of water leakage. Not having to fanny about with laces at the start is nice enough but at the end of the round - oh my sweet Jesus.

Best of all for me is that if I've under or over-tightened them on course, it is seconds to re-adjust. If you've under or over-tied your laces are you really going to stop to adjust again mid-round?

I think they are, as you can probably tell by now, the equivalent of having your feet sucked by Claudia Schiffer for 3.5 hours.

And that should be enough for anyone.

Homer, I'm testing them for GM as we speak. Played 3 rounds in them so far and a very favourable report will be being issued.

homer, this is the best preview i've seen, I'm thinking of getting a pair as i too own a pair of dryjoys at the moment.

just follow the links, the best picture for colour combinations is the top articles acompanying image (apparently the colour combinations for the PODS will be very similar to the ATHLETICS although my source has been wrong in the past), but for info on the shoes you will want the second article.

Footjoy shoes are boring.

They just dont do it for me. Comfort wise, cant fault em but really dont do it for me at all. Happy with my Stuburt Helium Black/Green.

So comfy and excellent waterproofing.

as PaulOH said a few of the GM boys (me included) have got reelfits and they get the thumbs up from all of us.

The best bit is being able to tighten them quickly instead of retying laces and then being able to just pull the knob (as it were) when you finish your round and enjoy the immediate comfort factor!

however they aren't what you'd call a budget shoe

I can see what madandra said about a few people possibly finding that they cant get the tight enough - this may be down to getting the right size though as the fit varies between my wide fitting plain blacks ones a slightly more sporty white pair (possibly called the split toe model?) both are 8s but a bit of variation in fit between the two.

One thing on the new DryJoy PODS is a lot of people are finding they need half a size LESS than usual (i certainly did) so try before you buy if possible

finally on the subject of shoes for all you Imelda Marcos types out there we had the new tour version of the adidas 360s in the office today (apparently only 4 pairs in the UK) and they are very natty. Sort of a combo between the current 360IIs and a more formal FootJoy style.

Again not cheap but sure to be popular with those with a bit of cash burning a hole in their pockets

right, talking shoes at 11.20pm, a sure sign it's bedtime

over and out
