Footjoy, recommendations?

I now have Adidas 360's and they are a lovely shoe.
But before that I had a pair of Reelfits and they were also very comfortable.

Got the Adidas 360's, great shoes. Given up on FJ, the first SYNR-G where crap and bulky, the cleats either where welded or came off, the leather cracked within weeks. Had some Dryjoys and they where ok.

Ecco are better imho than FJ.

where was that thread go that was recently up that showed some 170pounds shoes reduced to 50?

what were they?

I bought some, they look ok and are really comfy. The "Net System" is like mesh on the sole but it allows your feet to stay dry through sweat but keeps out water and mud. I thought they where a great deal for the price.

I've had some AQL's for about 2/3 years now and then do about 40-50 rounds a year. They're well worn in have been absolutley spot on for £60. Just starting to feel the studs push through the soles a bit so will look for a pair come summer and AQL's will be top of my list.

What's peoples choices on the studs? Soft spikes or hard metal ones?

My cheap Nike pair are the most comfortable shoes I own. As far as fitting goes I find one left and one right are the best combination. :D

My golf shoes gave up the ghost at the weekend. Stuburt ones, really liked them but the new ones look a bit cheap, so....

Main thing is that they're comfy and waterproof, not too bothered what they look like.
If you are not to bothered about how they look then why are you dismissing the newer version of the ones you have?

Sorry, didnt explain myself very well. I tried the newer version but seems like thryve been made on the cheap, e.g. the plastic toe protector has been replaced with flimsy rubber etc. They were my first port of call as my current ones have been great.

I have a pair of FJ Dryjoys that are at least 12yrs old, - admittedly they dont get worn much these days, but are still perfect, so is testement to their build quality.

Ive also a pair of Adidas Tour 360 Ltd, and they are like slippers, very very comfy, - perhaps not the most waterproof, but as I rarely play when its pouring, doesnt matter to me.

Also have 2 pairs of FJ Classics, and they are fantastic shoes. Need some careful owning, oiling of sole etc, and took a fair while to break in, but undoubtably will last me for years.
The Icon's have now replaced these, and 'money no object' - perhaps the choice of many.

Dryjoys is the way to go, and make sure you look after them !

What oil are you using for your classics? I got a pair for the amazing price of £50, never worn but I dont want to wear tehm without first oiling the sole.
