My golf shoes gave up the ghost at the weekend. Stuburt ones, really liked them but the new ones look a bit cheap, so....

Thought i'd just do the right thing and get a set of footjoys, but not as simple as i thought!

AQL, dryjoys, contour, synerg, sport, any particular recommendations or good/bad experiences on the models they do?

Main thing is that they're comfy and waterproof, not too bothered what they look like.

NW of all the FJ's i reckon that the contours are the most comfortable..Its like walking the course in slippers....Iv had these and now have adidas....But im putting away some shillings for the contours for the summer....There also light and waterproof too....

Ive got sports and their the best shoes I've had. I will confess the first pair splitt after a month but was changed under warranty. The replacements come with a green patterned insole so I think their a second edition model as the faulty ones had a grey in sole. The new ones are now a good 4/5 months and are like new

Forget the FJ's and get a pair of Adidas instead. (imo ;))

You on the staff now after ur fitting last week!? :-)

Like the look of the adidas but only ever seem to hear negative things about them, in the main that they aren't waterproof?

:D

I'm boycotting FJ now since I found out the "MyJoys" don't have the range of customisation that they do in the States.

I have to say that the only pair of FJ's I ever owned (8 years ago) were awesome.

But I'll probably get some Adidas 360's next. My mate has a pair and they're like slippers.

My mate has Adidas shoes but he couldnt find any hard spikes to fit, apparently they are proprietary and are not available in UK. He's not a happy bunny.

I think the Icons are comfiest shoes I've ever worn but they are expensive. I think pound for pound the dryjoys are the best value for money. I had a pair until the middle of last year that were 10 years old and had only just started to split and lose their waterproofness. Granted I cared for them well but still great servants.

Personally I hate adidas. They come up at least one or one and half sizes too small and seem too narrow even though I am a normal width fitting in all shoes. Loads of people I know have had problems with splitting and leaking

I have a pair of FJ Dryjoys that are at least 12yrs old, - admittedly they dont get worn much these days, but are still perfect, so is testement to their build quality.

Ive also a pair of Adidas Tour 360 Ltd, and they are like slippers, very very comfy, - perhaps not the most waterproof, but as I rarely play when its pouring, doesnt matter to me.

Also have 2 pairs of FJ Classics, and they are fantastic shoes. Need some careful owning, oiling of sole etc, and took a fair while to break in, but undoubtably will last me for years.
The Icon's have now replaced these, and 'money no object' - perhaps the choice of many.

Dryjoys is the way to go, and make sure you look after them !

Classic Tours and DryJoys, both great pairs of shoes.

Classics are over 3 years old and the DryJoys are over 2 years old and both still looking great and keeping my feet comfortable and dry. Currently got 5 pairs on the go including ECCO and Addidas as i wear golf shoes every day for most of the day.

The FJ shoes are the ones i'll wear when i play.

whatever you do try before you buy, ive had many pairs over the years, but the last two pairs of FJs havent been at all comfy, mainly cutting in around the top of the shoe around the ankle and heel, a pair i have from 10 years ago are much comfier still. have recently bought a pair of nike airs and they are as comfy as my trainers, definitely think its what fits you better (all our feet are slightly different shapes and sizes)

Got an old pair or DryJoys that are still going strong, and my current sports I've had no issues with (and they have the grey inners).

The new AQL's for 2011 look nice, and heard god things about AQL's in general as a shoe.
