Flightscope Trajectory Optimizer

i punched in my numbers and they are very similar.scott spoke about the previous sytems he used and he used this aswell as a few others and he felt the most accurate system was the trackman.he says a lot of the shaft companies never gave him an account until he got the trackman system fitted.

i used the numbers from trackman that had me @ 277 carry and the flightscope says 279.

Here's some numbers for you.

Player A
Average distance 318 (1 on tour)
Year earnings $1.4m

Player B
Average distance 284 (147 on tour)
Year earnings $6.68m

id be more interested in a flight scope as this is real and measure until landing, so you know its right. im not a fan of trackman.

If the shaft manufacturers wouldnt give him stuff until he got a trackman what does that tell you?

Nearly all the pros would use a trackman setup as it is deemed to be the best.

especially taylormade who used trackman for fitting players like dustin johnson etc for the r11 driver.if you take the yardages out of the occasion....which in a way mean nothing.

what is important is swing speed, ball speed and things like launch angle, spin rate and face angle.now if you are increasing your ball speed with different shafts and reducing spin rate and hitting them pretty straight then thats the name of the game...surely?

Pro's are only interested in ball speed ,carry distance and spin rates according to Paul Mcginley who has his own portable Trackman.

Darth, it's the other way round, Trackman follows the ball over the whole of it's path, hence the name. Flightscope follows it over only a short distance and then calculates the rest. This is why tour players and manufacturers use Trackman most of the time. Flightscope is a good system however and has the advantage of being able to use it in nets.

I wasn't sure how either of them worked and could only go on what they say themselves, heres what Flightscope say "The great thing about FlightScope X2 is the fact that it measures the ball until it lands - there is no guesswork - it is not a speculation process like launch monitors."

Maybe its their V2 that measures until landing

i think if you are using a trackman system outside then it can track the ball the whole way.

inside though it obviously can't track it the whole way and has to calculate certain parameters.

here is a previous email sent from scott with regards to trackman itself

William,

Trackman has 21 pieces of info, best monitor on current market by a mile, I previously had Vector, then Flightscope and now Trackman.

Trackman is used by so many of the leading brands, players, companies use this machine for testing so do the R&A and USPGA

We also have shaft fit pro software from True Temper very cool piece of software from them as we are a performance fitting centre for True Temper.

Trackman
Swing speed, ball speed, spin, launch. Spin axis, attack angle, decent, hoz plane, flight time, many more but tells more than required.

We carry shimada, true temper, kbs, shafts for irons then accra, grafalloy, project x and soon matrix shafts in woods. We have most of the above for fitting purpose

Current hardware we sell is Vega, Miura, KZG, Wishon, Mizuno, Ping, United

Grips Iomic Iguana Golf Pride

in another email he said some customers who have been on the trackman system outdoors and indoors both report back that the carry distances are the same so very accurate indeed.
