The problem I have with an England 11 at the moment, is no one really stands out. Goal keeper, have we really got one? And the rest of the team, in any position I could name 5 players who are better from other countries. We are just not in the same league. I get fed up with our players being described as world class. We have no world class players, full stop. I watched the Brazil/Italy game at the Grove (note, the Emirates does not exist), and we have no one who would get a game in these teams.
Our players are over paid, and are big fish in a small pond here, and small sh in a big pond out in the big wide world.

Oh, and fat frank is rubbish.

Some typical line ups so far, but for me there just arent enough names that LEAP OUT at you. 4 or 5 perhaps but not the whole team and I feel thats whats missing, there should be 11 names that LEAP OUT at you. There are names there that are great players but no longer have the impact they once had.

i'll come up with my eleven when i've had time to give it some serious thought but..... Has the be Bridges at left back. I can't believe that cole got in the team at national and club level ahead of him. He was right to jump ship and head for city. Also, on current form, Ashley Young has got to be in there.
Heskey? why do people rate him? There is only O'Neil that has ever got the best from him.

Bridge before Cole ? Not a chance . I was sceptical when Ashley Cole came to us at Chelsea as Bridgey was one of my favourite players but Ashley Cole has been much more consistent these last 18 months and is , in my opinion , a much better defending full back which is a full backs primary job. Offensively, maybe Bridgey just edges it which is frustrating as he could have easily played on the left hand side of midfield for Chelsea and would have allowed Scolari to play his much loved 4-4-2.

I agree with the few soles on here that say we don't have any outstanding world class players..maybe Rooney when he's on song.
