Bolt. He is still amazing. I so hope he is clean.
To run that 200 semi, and be chatting to the guy who came second, while still running towards the line. Incredible.

This. Having a bit of banter in the closing stages of a 200m race was weird but at the same time highly entertaining.

Missed seeing a few of the options in the poll due to time difference but the only time I shouted at the tv was the Justin Rose hole in one

Saw the magnificent achievements from Bolt & Farah live but neither had that surprise/shock factor

Because so little of it was actually live there were no 'moments' for me, they have to be live I think to have that effect. The only result that blew me away when I read about it next morning and I had to go to BBC sports app to watch was Van Niekirk in the mens 400m, far and away the best performance of the games for me.

I expected Bolt/Farah/Trott/Kenny to win and they did, so no surprises there. Bolt talked up world records but he's been nowhere near his own records in 7 years so that was BS imo.

Jason Kenny in his last race. Explosive finish plus all in the race had to deal with the tension of possible expulsion due to false starts. To come through that on top showed real class. (also imagine what a bummer it would have been that night had he not won in the Kenny / Trott household. Laura Trott won her gold just before but couldn't truly celebrate until he had won his. Extra pressure and distraction there)

None of the athletics resonated with me because I saw none live. A great shame but there is little you can do about that.

Yes for me the Olympics IS the athletics - it comes alive then. Even though I loved the swimming and cycling. Such a shame athletics was live only in the early hours, so I recorded the whole session and fast forwarded to the 100 and 200 metre finals before going to work. Did the same for Mo Farah on the Sunday morning athletics but watched the whole session after a nice lay in.

I chose Bolt for the stand out Olympian, because to do the double at 3 olympics is truly amazing. Also for the pressure he was under after the drugs issues with Gatlin and proving, to the whole world of athletics that "clean" was the right way. Had Gatlin won in 2012 I can't imagine what damage it would have done to the sport worldwide.

I also believe that all our medallists were stand out achievers.
