So once again the greatest sporting event has finished for another 4 years - GB have done amazing and IMO the sportsmen and ladies have done the nation proud

So what was your favourite moment of the games

What made you jump for joy and get you bursting with pride

I have left out the golf on purpose

Bit left field but Jade Jones for me. Purely by accident I saw her win in 2012 and she proved in 2016 it was no fluke. But you could easily have picked any of the others you mentioned including Adam peaty absolutely owning the opposition in his swim. Plus the Brownlee brothers.

The Ladies hockey team for me, shear guts and determination in the semi-final and final.

Obviously immense respect for the but the hockey it is. I do have a big soft spot for hockey with it being my main sport.

I don't understand the obsession with the hockey ladies? What makes them so special compared to, for example, the ladies 8 in the rowing?

Anyway, Bryonies Page winning the silver medal in the trampoline. Totally unexpected, especially for her. Genuine joy rather than just ticking a box of fulfilling expectations.

It ending.

First time I haven't 'felt it' and what's more, Country File will be back on at its usual time now...;)

Trott for me. Just about as dominant as it's possible to be. And I have a strange little crush on her. It must be the thighs. Ooh those thighs :D

Jason Kenny, The Ladies Hockey and The Copacabinmen receiving their medals.
Dan Walker on BBC 4 was superb.😃

Sick Pervert.

I'm more of a Becky James fan....

Every year the top female cyclists ride round Nottingham city centre, Trott and the rest of the top female riders all come and without wishing to come over too Uncle Nobby but they are very fit young ladies. One year when Dani King was there she won the race, and after she got the trophy I managed to get her to pose for a photo of my young daughter. And she was very gracious with her time, taking time to have a quick chat with her. I then tweeted the photo to her and she retweeted it and said how much she enjoyed meeting my daughter. I was very impressed and they are great role models.

They won the gold?

Bolt. He is still amazing. I so hope he is clean.
To run that 200 semi, and be chatting to the guy who came second, while still running towards the line. Incredible.

wayde van niekerk and the 400m final, the way he did that form the wrong lane was superp.

My first proper Olympic memories are watching Johnson set the 200 and 400 records. Always thought Bolt would get the 200 but thought the 400 was safe!

Best GB moment would be Brownlee. Both did brilliant, but for Alistair to win his second gold so convincingly was a cracking bit of tele.

Didn't they? I thought there was on boat that never won gold before and wasn't expecting it either.

I meant the hockey ladies won gold but the ladies 8 won silver. Which was a great achievement as they had never been placed in any previous Olympics, but arguably not as good in most peoples eyes as the ladies winning the hockey. Plus the drama of the penalty shootout, the fact they were under dogs, the superb performance from the keeper and the fact the captain was married to one of the other players probably all added to a certain joy about their win.

Got to be Bolt, the man is just awesome.
Every other athlete seems to have to really dig deep,it just seems easy for him.

Laura Trott & Jade Jones were also up there for me.

There were so many great moments its really hard to pinpoint my favourite and many moments had me welling up[not crying I'm not a baby] just passionate about sport.

Most people will pick a sport they can relate to or may play themselves[cant picture Simon playing hockey though]as I know how fit they need to be.

For me the biggest thrill was watching the Brownlees on the bike section and coming 1st and 2nd,Mo because I know how hard he would have to train to stay at the top and Laura Trott in the Omnium just so dominant.

Back to normality now, nearly.

Nick Skelton for me. 57 years of age. Having to control a half ton beast over numerous jumps against the clock. Pressure pressure pressure

I really enjoyed the cycling, was a good few nights on the sofa with a wine and the Mrs and I were glued to it! Proper exciting! Even that weird 160 lap race one that Cav did!
