Fair or not??

You should name and shame.... although we do have (at least) one forum member who is a member there... oddly missing from this thread :D

Very unfair....would not be going back there again.....

I think a lot of clubs take the p1ss when it comes to temporary greens and then blame the weather. There is no excuse for that sort of temp green. I've seen rough shorter than that!

Did your mate make any comments Rob ? Seems unfair ,but with temps like that he is better off out of it anyhow

Apparently, they are "frost" greens, not "temporary" greens, and as such are classed differently.. to be used as a "target practice" and not supposed to be putted on.
My friend queried this with the R&A who confirmed that they are temporary greens. He then argued this with the owner of the club and was asked to leave.
Apparently, the course never has "temporary greens"

I will never complain about the state of our temporary greens again :D (not because I am afraid to be kicked out, but because the pictures show that it could be so much worse)

I've played it a few times and struggled to be honest.
It's not the easiest course out there but I will go back in the Summer and give it another bash
At my standard rob every course is hard! But I played it in the summer it was very sunny and the whole place ooooozzzzed class! Treated very well and food was spot on. Only downside was a bit of a pompous bloke in the shop who wouldn't serve us tea till 8 am.

It's an interesting situation

I think first of all over winter most people count themselves lucky they are able to get out and play. Winter golf should just be about keeping a swing going and having a bit of fun. Loads of courses are closed , have fairway mats , tee mats , and some have the green closed for months and some just shove a hole in the ground which appears to be what this course have done and you should just treat it as being out and playing.

The next part is the going public - maybe that's not the best idea from the start - how about speak to the club and find out what's going on and ask for the area to be given a quick going over with the mower because any business of golf club will not like negative press. Then the reaction of the owner is way over the top and will do even more damage.

The incident should and could have been handled far better
