Naming a provisional ball

It may be just me being - well me! But I don't really care if someone tell me what their provisional ball is and how it's marked. As long as they say they are playing a provisional ball I am fine.

When we get to the area where one or both balls are hiding I just ask "what are we looking for?"

It's up to them to be able to identify it - if they can't distinguish between them they deserve the penalty.

I always chuckle to myself when people announce their ball on the 1st tee...I usually say" don't bother..I'll have forgotten by the time we get to the green"
And they can change it if Preferred Lies are in operation anyway.......

I name mine Bing. All together now, after 3…………

Straight down the middle

Can you change your ball during play of a hole if it is not lost or damaged?

See Rule 6.3b. Brief answer is yes when taking relief under a rule or when playing again from where the previous stroke was made, no when replacing a ball on a spot.
