I do not have many overly slow rounds at my course and you can normally guarantee that 3.5 to 4 hours will get you round even at the busiest times.

Today, however, wasa strange day as every group in front of our 2 ball played us through. Just getting one group to let you through is hard enough so was really surprised at the level of courtesy shown today.

What a difference it made, the round never seemed rushed and we were round in 2 hours fifty minutes. Played some of my best golf in ages as well.

So there you have it, etiquette works and if every group shows courtesy and consideration to groups behind you can cut over an hour off a round of golf without feeling rushed.

(By the way, scored my first Albatross today as I hold a 7 iron on our par 4 6th)

"Hole 6 - Church View
421 yards Par 4
Some say this is Stokes' signature hole - certainly a good one to get your 4 on ! Aim your tee shot at the church in the distance and you'll not go far wrong ! Anything missing the fairway can put you in trouble as there are trees left and right, coupled with tight rough blocking out a clear shot to this very difficult green. Even if you're on the fairway, the second shot can be one of the most demanding on the course and a lot will be down to luck and the bounce you get !! The green is more receptive to a well struck shot than most think but will you risk it !! Once you get on the green, you've then to negotiate the slippery slopes. Get your 4 and move on !"

It wasn't bollox, but felt it wasnt about what I've done on that hole, it was about Greg's Eagle/albatross

Had a nice hole-out at Hassocks playing with Golfmmad, we were talking about the value of knowing the correct yardages and I told him I it was about 76 to the pin according to SkyCaddie and I was going to land it about 70yds and let it run out, popped it in for the eagle - a point well made I think.
