England Squad

Don't worry your not going to do either! :D
Obviously got a decent chance in the Cup as the favourites will come from one of the 3 on our side, but if we finish the same or worse than last season, he should go.

Uncle Roy is still wheeling out James Milner ,Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson. Not forgetting a half fit Daniel Sturridge. It's not the 80's we don't have to have a squad full of Liverpool players do we ??? I'll give him Nathaniel Clyne though !!!!!!

I'd take Milner every time. Solid performer, rarely lets you down. Lallana has found a little form recently but is prone to losing the ball. Disappears for lengthy spells, not worth an England shirt. Henderson is a pale Gerrard, not good enough yet. A tournament too soon for me. Sturridge, if genuinely fit, needs the game time. I'd play him with Kane, and see if they would really stretch defences.

It doesn't matter WHICH players are picked..... until England learn to pass the ball and move into a better position to take a return ball, or to move into a position where the man on the ball has an option of playing a pass, we will never achieve anything.

All to often our lack of movement and work rate leads us into a position where a player receiving the ball has no options but to send the ball straight back to the player who passed it to him.....if he is fortunate enough that the player hasn't then run away into a position where he cannot receive the ball.

Our lack of creativity and a desire to get up the field spreads the back four, midfield and forwards apart so that they have little or no support.... no simple passes, move, pass, work the ball, move, pass in little triangles....hence we get Gerard'esque 30/40 yard balls played at such a pace into players upfield that they have little chance of controlling the ball and get instantly robbed of possession.

Football is such a simple game.... my daughter was sat with me watching Barcelona a few weeks ago and after 20 minutes of utter domination she remarked on how the game was "based on triangles" and that the players moved constantly to form new triangles and the man on the ball always had two players to play the ball to.... and that each of the two options also had two players close by to form the next triangle..... she was 10 years old FFS!!! If she could see how the game worked then why can't the England management?

I' not suggesting that we try to play like Barcelona.... we just don't have the players with the skill and fleet-footedness to do that.... but we could start doing some of the basics properly!!!

Not to worry, Barca didn't qualify for the Euro's:rofl: England did, with a 100% record, must be doing something ok or is it once again we had the easiest group and were lucky?

England did well to qualify without losing but yes the group wasn't exactly littered with football power houses and minute they do face a class nation they are outclassed convincingly at the moment

Yip. We'll get turned over against decent opposition in friendlies too but that'll be ok because "it's only a friendly".

Apparently in the Hodgson press conference recently he mentioned he'd asked Stones if he could do a job in centre midfield then as an after thought, thought about bringing drink-water into the squad. Glad he's got his finger on the pulse

Tried that with Phil Jones

No idea at any level better to play players who are used to there position rather than moonlighting there even more so at Internationals as the chances of being exposed are far greater.

Not claiming England are world beaters, but I will wait to judge them at the Euro's otherwise this spirals into the last world cup and Roy's record at Lpool, if we beat Germany and Holland trying new players will that prove anything for the Euro's? if the same players lose both games it'll be excuses made and back to the same old for the Euro's.
Hopefully this time we'll have a good comp and at least reach the semi's, if not, imo, bye bye Roy.
