England Squad

Not sure why Noble has never been given a call up but then I'm not sure if he offers anything different or more than what's in there.

Cresswell seems a very good player but LB looks a strong position for England
What's in there ain't great so try some new faces and see where it leads, don't try never know .

LP - Delle Ali could replace Lallana. It depends what role you would see Lallana in. I would have to have Barclay in the midfield, Ali as well ideally. Those are two creative players straight away. Would you play Kane and Vardy at the same time? If so then you need more defensive midfielders to make up the rest. If you only play one then you have a little more latitude but I still would not start with Lallana.

I will stand up for Milner. A solid go to bloke who can cover a number of roles within a squad. May not play every game but will not let you down. You need a player like that in a squad.

Wouldn't have Delle Ali in the wider areas though - Lallana can provide width in both areas as well as central. Don't think Lallana would start unless he keeps the form going towards the end.

Think the best set for England would be

Dier and Henderson in the middle

Barkley Ali and Sterling behind Kane as lone striker

Milner will always get in as he can play to a good level in5 positions! Not many players out there can do that without spitting their dummy out!

I would ditch the lone striker for these friendlies and experiment with some sort of 4-4-2, ideally with Kane just behind Vardy.

Then would need ideally to find two wide players ? Sterling and Lallana ?

Or play with a three in the middle

Dier - Henderson - Ali

Barkley behind Kane and Vardy and the two fullbacks providing the width ?

Ideally, the fullbacks providing width, just like Barca do...:D. However, this is the England team and we lose the ball a lot, so don't want to be caught out down the channels. :D. Go with four across the middle, bit like a 4-4-1-1. TBH, I just want to see a formation that makes the best use of the best ball players we have, playing in their preferred and correct positions.

Hahaha he obviously isn't listening to the instructions of the club when he's training for the club. He's an injury prone player who's made of candy floss.

Yes he is injury prone hence why he needs certain training to try and protect him - it's not exactly new news that Sturridge has injury issue is it. Right now he is fit and getting sharper so it's in the best interests to keep that going

Last time those specific training drills were ignored and he went on a horrific injury run.

I'd give Drinkwater a run out.
Don't forget though, these are friendlies and will have no bearing on how we do at the Euro's

:thup:Correct that's why others should be tried as he knows his team if all fit now as Roy is no different from the other managers before him! Pick the names not the best team.

It's more the fact we are playing Germany and Holland in friendlies, if we win them both then it's the Euro's sown up, if we get beat the sack Roy brigade will be out, 99% of me doesn't care about anything but the Euro''s, and at the end of them we should either sack him or back him.

Lallana hasn't proved himself for me this year and so this has to be last chance saloon. Not sure why we're risking brittle Sturridge ahead of the championship when it's obvious what he can do. Personally I think we need to be looking beyond Milner now and getting the next man in that role into international football. We stick with the old guard way too long compared to other nations

Having players with high energy and work ethic will cover for that - Dier and Henderson are perfect , Dier already does it for Spurs when Walker and Rose go high.

It would be a good test and certainly would be a young creative team with experience like Milner and further creative players like Sterling and Lallana waiting and then players like Drinkwater as support for Dier

For the champs the brave move would be Sturridge ( if fit ) alongside Kane - that could be a forward line to score goals and actually frighten the opposition

Come June and the press will still have us down as going to win it. I think he's doing ok bar the farce in Brazil and seemingly starting to grow a younger more exciting squad as a whole. We aren't there and won't be inJune but for once wouldn't it be nice to give Hodgson or any ,a abet 4-5 years to actually do it his way

The last chance to experiment only 3 more games I think after these 2 so if your not in this squad then I'd be thinking of booking hols for June.

Should now be looking to nail down the starting 11 with the tactics he wants to use and get them gelling with a few fringe players coming on to give them a chance to shine

Isn't that the idea of friendlies though to blood new players. He and the players know the tactics he'll use already and will hone these in the weeks before France

Poor old Roberto he can't win...... wembley beckons some great football and still not happy! :D
Papering over cracks mate, if he learns to defend in the way he attacks we'd be one hell of a team.
