I would say B-. I remained stuck on 13 handicap almost all season, going up to 14 and back again to 13 in last year's club championship on the same day!

I shot a 113 in a medal, but then shot 84 in the first round of this year's club champs, winning it and therefore my first ever medal after 9 years of trying!

My swing was altered about 9 months ago, and I really struggled with my game. Driving was terrible, approach play shocking, with only chipping and putting keeping me same. The 113 was the time I came closest to quitting.

However, the work on my swing just before the 113 suddenly kicked in a month later, with the medal win and since then, I've done pretty well.

Have played some great courses this season, the Smurfitt course at the K club for €30 (!), The Montgomerie at The Address, Dubai, Black Sea Rama in Bulgaria and Marina Bay in Singapore.

Golf purchase of the season has been 4 dozen Lynx Tour Soft for £30! I've played with them twice now and they are great. Similar to Callaway Chrome Soft, but dirt cheap.

Looking forward to getting to Cat 2 next season... and staying there.

Well that's my season finished and I finished with two small cuts in my HC that comfortably keeps me at 5hc, where I started the season. At my age staying at 5 is my goal.

Played some memorable golf finishing yesterday with a scratch 72 around Royal Musselburgh in the medal.....my third 72 score around there this season. Without doubt I've hit some of the best irons ever with my new Srixon bats, they're the dogs nads.

B+ I'll give myself

Started season 6.3 with target being to get back to CAT1, after disastrous couple of lessons and rising to 6.9, ended season on 5.4, so happy with that
Was lucky enough to win King of Kings this year
Didn't win a board Comp, but a 2nd and a couple of 3rd' s got me a few quid in vouchers
Enjoyed some great Forum meets again this year and played several courses for the first time
Played Birkdale again after 20 years of waiting
Feel like I'm hitting the ball better than ever with increased consistency, just need to cut out the disaster rounds (albeit they are becoming less frequent) when no part of my game seems to work

I have not posted on this thread until now with the last comp of the season being last Saturday.

Get handicap from 11.4 to 8- Achieved, a 67 on Saturday just snuck me in to 8.3
Have a double bogey free round in a medal- Achieved
Get my hands on a trophy- FAIL
Get a new PB in a medal- Achieved (+5)

I'd give myself a B+ for this season. Handicap cut got scrappy towards the end and while my aim was 8 I hoped I could make it to 7. New medal PB is an improvement but only got there by 1 shot, felt I could've had a +2/3 this year which would've been a lot more satisfying. Now to think about next year's goals and bed down for the winter.....
