went today to be fitted for a driver at a Pro shop. i had a couple of lessons with the pro over the last few weeks. now i went in wanting the titleist but knew he had TM RBZ range in. i had ruled out the RBZ because its white and i thought it would get grubby. my current driver is a R7 cgb max 12 degree. so into the simulator room with all three drivers.
well im not skilled enough yet with my swing (not very consistant) to describe shaft being dead etc.
but there was a clear winner and i couldnt help laughing during the fitting cos it was so obvious.

im now the very proud owner of 10.5 RBZ driver regular shaft AND 3HL 17 ( well who wants a 15 degree going the same as the driver) degree fairway wood!!!

ive got by with my r7 but the 45 reax shaft was to wippy and i noticed a big difference in the RBZ xcon 5 shaft. even though when i read about i nearly said no as its a high launch.

i got my clubs out at Belleisle Golf Course South Ayrshire and the Pro is Richard Gordon. no heavy sales patter. he can fit you for Taylor Made ,Titleist, Ping and Wilson. defo suggest you go to a Pro instead of big warehouse places from America.

check out South Ayrshire Golf for more info on the golf simulator. he can do lessons using this and i was impressed when it shows all the stats, launch angle clubhead speed club path etc.

now to go and stock up on baby wipes to keep them clean:fore:

Nice one, glad you got what was best for you, sad that it's called "Rocket Balls" though.:D

How did you get on with the Titleist you wanted?

Oh and clearly you are good enough to tell what feels good in a shaft as you did so twice in your post. It's not about being good, just about analysing the sensation of hitting the shot. Try the RIP 60 gram shaft, I think they call it RIP cos it's dead!!!

Enjoy the new toys.

Congratulations! Out of interest what were the stats and shaft you opted for?

i said im not very consistant so the only stat that was of interest was 25 yards longer than my old driver and titleist 910d2. 240 250 ish. stock shaft regular . i did notice a big difference between the red shaft and the blue shaft in the titleist. but the RBZ was longer and better ball flight. and the pro showed me that the stats backed it up.
im still laughing as i type this cos i was so sure i didnt want a white driver. but the RBZ sits so nice to my eye at address as it gave me confidence, happy as larry

Its great Looking Driver, bigslice, and the White finish stands out so much, the Driver actually looks much Bigger than a black headed model, gives even more confidence
Good Luck with the New Toy

the titleist 910d2 i hit ok and had hit at the practise area but the RBZ beat it on the stats and also to the eye at address, also the couple of posts about build quality on the 910 helped push to the TM. although was i had hit the RBZ there was no contest. imo

I was planning to go and hit the RBZ today but after hitting some balls at the range it would have been a futile mission. Not a good day and the swing was out of kilter. I'm putting it down to a lack of playing and practising and so we'll try again next week. I had a text from a mate saying he'd hit the RBZ and the R11S and was impressed by both. Git. He didn't say if he had bought either but hopefully he'll be playing on Friday so I can see

I had a hit with 1 exact spec as you got on our range last night. Only 1 ball but was quite nice, one of our juniors has one and gave me a hit on his last ball just as the place was shutting. Nice enough to want to get a proper go with it.

Only thing that surprises me is that your a regular shaft!

i just cant hit a stiff shaft, i need that regular shaft to whip in. ive no tempo its all our nothing with my drives. the few lessons have defo worked and will probably book a few with him. plus i reckon i was 20 30 yards longer with the RBZ. had to take a 17 wood to get a spread in distances

Glad you've got something your happy with mate, my bro's still not had a bash with the Cleveland yet. I'm going to try and coax him to the range during the week.

Three sets of settings really, best watch these videos rather than try to explain it.

Interesting link Brendy.....did you notice that the R11S driver comes with a money back guarantee if you don't love your driver for pretty much any reason........BUT only applicable if you bought it from an approved Talormade stockist in the USA.
Wonder how come this offer doesn't extend to Europe?

Got to be because the Europeans are realistic golfers and dont need such guarantees to balls it all up themselves without needing to blame clubs? :D
