If you play commando yes, if you dont and have a decent double strap bag then no it doesnta wise man once said ...
"a wet strap can annoy a player long after the rain has gone from view"
You ain't gonna lose much weight playing golf!
But to answer your question, I still carry because I prefer it
I have to disagree with you about not loosing weight. I have lost 12kg in 3 months, ever since i started to play again.
I do try and power walk round the course, and yes i walk over greens and i take my clubs on to the tee's. lol
LMAO if you call just under 3 stone not a lot, your on a different plant.......
Only lazy people push their clubs around - fact! But if you're injured or too weak to carry them, then that's fair enough in my book.
And all of this talk about carrying your clubs is bad for your back....what a load of nonsense! Carrying your clubs will make your back much stronger and will help prevent future injuries. I've nothing against those that decide to pull/push their clubs around but surely they would be the first to admit they are lazy? (Unless injured etc...)
It amazes me how many people say that they can't carry because they have a bad back. They probably have a bad back because it's weak and exercising will actually HELP back pain.
One of the reasons i play golf is to loose weight. So needless to say, i carry my bag. Today on Craigmillar Park know one was carrying there clubs. Whats the crack, am i missing something.![]()

And re people carrying their clubs over the green...what's the issue here? I weigh 12 and a half stone and my clubs add an extra 7kg, which keeps me well under 14 stone. So does this mean should this mean that anyone who weighs more than 14 stone should not be allowed on the greens? Stupid thinking!
