Does it matter yellow or white tees?

Can't be very good mates if they try to knock you back on a first sub 100 score. Well done on passing this milestone and hopefully the scores will keep tumbling.

Congratulations in breaking 100. To me it makes no difference whether it's the yellows or the whites, they are both measured courses. I've only managed to break 100 twice so far once off of each of the yellows and whites.

Hope its not too long before you break 100 again, although it took me a while.

Yup I am off 28. We both scored 18 on the front 9 then he had like 3 pars on the back 9(two of which got him 4 points)and I only managed to par our par 3's which gets me 3 points each. This led to him scoring 20 on the back 9 and me 19! However, on one of the par 3's he developed the shanks and smashed his first two tee shots into the trees to the right, his third tee shot went the same way but hit a tree and bounced back out. He eventually blobbed an 8 on that hole! Hence him getting the higher shots count but still beating me on SF by the point!

Congrats on your 99

As everyone's said the tee's don't matter unless not a measured course or tee's are not for your category of player i.e playing off the junior or ladies course

Breaking 100 is purely a personal milestone regardless of overall course distance (and even when comparing ing course off their whites
you breaking 100 to the golfing community in general) your course off the yellows could be hundreds of yards longer than a neighboring course off their white

Many courses could be longer than yours but tame in terms of difficulty making breaking the ton easier and lots of courses even put white & yellow tees on the same teebox with just a handful of yards difference between them except for the odd hole, kinda makes boasts about 'off the whites' a bit redundant if its only tangible on two or three holes

Well done again

If as you say, you putted out on all holes, then forget the stableford score - 99 beats 102 every time. Stableford is fine but ultimately it is the number of shots that matters. 37 points isn't a milestone - getting under 100 strokes is! Well played.

Saying that you haven't really broken 100 is like saying it's not really a hole in one because it hit a tree on the way in. We are playing everything off yellows at the moment as our whites don't go out for a couple more weeks, if I shoot level par in the comp on Wednesday it'll still be level par!

For me you broke 100 fair and square

No debate in fact as you played a measured course. As mentioned - if you picked up short 'gimme' putts that does somewhat invalidate the round - but as it wasn't a comp that doesn;t really matter and you'll know if any putts were really missable. Well done sir - always a great thing to break through a mental barrier in golf.

Good skills my friend , you broke 100 my friend. Bank it, it's official. You'll find that golf will continue to give you similar challenges. I've broken 80 off our yellows but for the life of me can't do it in a competition off of the whites. !!!!!

And without getting boring, your eight on the first hole in a comp would not be classed as an eight. They would only class it as a double bogey at the most. So not sure if that would be classed as a six or seven as you had two shots on that hole. Come what may the scorecard looks better.:whoo:
