Almost always have a small amount of change on me. More often than not I don't carry any notes.
There’s a bit of a problem with this post. None of this was in the UK.Well this week has proven most effective without a wallet
Leshuttle tickets Google pay
Car charging via octopus card linked to my account
Disney park / food passes on Mine and my wife's Google pay
All purchases done via Google pay (jointed card)
Toil roads done via a tag in the car. Will get debited end of the month
Took 22 euros with us for the week
Came home with 22 euros
All I carried in my bag with a battery pack incase we ran out of charge (never did)

Yes traveling showed that the English are the biggest problem with most things . Very entitled
Although we queue better
Er it’s rather a shallow post. Travel to Japan without any cash and you are going to massively struggle. They are a predominantly cash society. Very Entitled is not a good analogy. One needs to research where you are travelling to. And not just what you can use re cash, card, or whatever payment option the entitled individual prefers. But also what exchange rate is the best way to pay, whether cash or card. Which equates to buying the same thing, but the cheaper way to buy something and not necessarily the easiest.Yes traveling showed that the English are the biggest problem with most things . Me I use, cash, card, and Caxton, which has been a god send. But I fail to understand how folk are firmly fixed in the cash or card camp without being flexible.
EG, we gave tips to cabin boys in cash. It was the only way. And they will accept, €,$,£ or any currency. And yet some Japanese will not accept any tips, but a bar of chocolate. You have a friend for life.
Bottom line, for me. Flexibility to payment key when travelling.
So Italian, Spanish, Greek, Moroccan drivers, just to name a few, are all ‘entitled’? What about drivers in India and Pakistan? proper scary driving there. How about the Russians or Mexicans - have you seen the accident stats? Lane discipline is hardly excellent in Nigerian and Côte d’Ivoire - in fact being driven over there is really frightening. Have you ever driven or been driven in Egypt? - patience and discipline are not key characteristics of a lot of drivers there so I assume they are all entitled too?Wasn't anything to do with cashless the entitled part..
Driving in France? A breeze. Proper lane discipline from all the drivers .. soon as back in England? Entitled idiots all over the road. Hogging lanes or undertaking , no patience
The people try and speak English to you
Very welcoming rather than making tourists feel very unwelcome, uncomfortable and in the way when they come to visit.
KeirTheFragger is that you?I mostly use cash when I want to score a joint or when I need to pay the rent boy![]()
I couldn’t possibly commentKeirTheFragger is that you?![]()

Come to think of it driving in Central Paris, especially round the Arc de Triomphe is hardly a breeze due to driving standards.
Funniest thing is that everyone thinks he's having you on.......I mostly use cash when I want to score a joint or when I need to pay the rent boy![]()

Got a flight back from Turkey yesterday. 75% of folks cards were being rejected, yet they wouldn’t accept cash. A right shambles.
