Im interested in who prefers a lighter or heavier club? So lighter drivers seem all the rage, but for me a heavier driver helps with swinging too fast, the weight helps get into position at the end of the backswing, helps give you time to get body up to speed, and seems to be faster where the speed needs to be, at the end of the downswing.

For irons i feel it also helps with rough, wedges and putters for me helps promote a straighter path (although if you are off it can make it hard to correct).

lighter all the way- I can hit heavy as I've a smooth-ish swing, but I grew up playing squash and tennis and feel much more in control of where the head is with lighter clubs.

I tried the 5 iron of a pro who is on the euro pro tour when he was at the range, it felt at least 3 times heavier, made some good contact but no way I could keep that up

Heavy for me. Have a pretty strong swing and having played a lot of cricket prefer to have a lot of weight in the club. If I use a club that I find too light I struggle to know where the clubhead is. I do have a roll of lead tape for when I need to increase weight a bit :)

If you put your hands on the swing plane at address, you will follow centrifugal force, and youll be surprised how much lighter it feels and how much faster your arms are.

Went from lighter to heavier irons and noticed I started to feel tired after about 15 holes when I first changed them.

Much prefer the heavier ones now though.

Definitely heavier for me, as heavier clubs force me to swing more smoothly. I tend to get a bit quick and handsy with lighter clubs.

Depends on the club.
I have a 75g X stiff shaft in my driver, only so it slows my swing down.
Current irons are 117g shafts but my new clubs are 120g shafts, but a much more boardy feel. Not a huge fan of heavy irons, might of been why I didn't get along with heavier shafts at my fitting.

sorry, don't follow this  ...and I believe it's centripetal force

Lighter clubs all the way for me, I swing smoother than I do harder and find I lose control with heavier clubs as I end up trying to force the shot. With lighter clubs I swing smooth and play my best stuff.

Heavier irons for me - and heavy swing weight too apparently (D8 works fine!)

Medium-heavy works best for me with Driver, but that's an attribute of my swing - could never get enough zip through the hitting zone with heavier shafts.

Again, my background is probably the cause - heavy Hockey stick (26+ oz) and 'Hammer' (head heavy) Tennis racquets.
