Did you see the puss on Watson.

Haven't seen the clip but I'd be thinking joke too

I have one mate that I play with where we'll actually pull a fist pump if the other misses a putt or sends one into the outback etc. To an onlooker we'd be the worst type of player you could meet, to us its mega banter and just a reference to when the joke started

I'd like to have watched him for longer than the clip shown, I think he was just messing around. Maybe one of them will mention in an interview what was going on.

He was clearly messing about the players pick their own groups so he was with friends, again the media (sky) making it look like something it wasn't.

Wasn't that in reference to the Spieth, Fowler and Thomas group.

They probably had money in place too, but Butch did say as they were about to show that he had an insight in to Bubba's reaction and would explain in a minute. I'm sure Bubba's reaction was all wholly in jest, and balking at paying out..... Butch replied to a comment on it later saying something along the lines of "they won't like paying out, their professional players, they don't pay for anything"..

Watson is the most disliked player on the PGA Tour. He claims to have ADHD, but I think he is probably just an arrogant, unlikeable jerk.

Have you actually got prove of this statement or is it another dig at someone who has actually achieved something.

Of course he is not everyones cup of tea but who is.

He does come across a nice man in interviews imo and he has a lot of time for fans when signing autographs.

It was an ESPN poll of current tour players - about who they wouldn't help out in a fight in the parking lot. Bubba came top.

Personally, I think he's a good laugh, you could see the wry smile on his face when Simpson went to hug him. Like you say, he's great with the fans, apparently he spent loads of time with the Drive Chip & Putt kids.

Yes, I conducted a survey of PGA Tour pros and performed a detailed psychological analysis of Watson.

I think you must be confusing him with someone else.

It was clearly a joke.

Seriously mate I only had to read the headline to see it was one of those pointless polls.

Headine [no-one likes Bubba]get a grip.
Bubba's got a funny name[get a grip

I actually remember seeing this interview and a few were actually being pushed for an answer when they didn't really want to give one.

But you carry on believing everything you read and watch and you wont go far wrong.

They also did a survey on the most overated player on the tour and Ricky Fowler and Poults came out on top, well that went well didn't it.

Bubba's mis-understood. He has issues, major fear issues, phobia of everything, but I think he's a genuine, nice guy away from the cameras. Certainly seems to have a lot of friends on the Tour and seems like he's great fun to hang out with. Sure he has his moments, but I don't think he's a bad guy. Patrick Reed on the other hand......

Nonsense, he doesn't have a phobia of everything. He appears in front of crowds all the time, does TV, makes crap music videos. He does use phobias and ADHD as excuses for acting like a knob.

Does everythingphobia the reason he acted like a jerk here:

If you ever listen to By The Minute podcast with Lawrence Donegal and john Huggan, you will hear plenty of testimony about how much he is disliked, as you will by reading Shane Ryan's book from last year about the new players on the PGA Tour. There are constant references in the golf press to his winning personality too. An occasional forced stunt of signing a few autographs or appearing with wounded veterans doesn't change his basic personality.

i really really hope he doesn't win The Masters this year.

Exactly why USA lose every two years at the Ryder Cup. All their players, with the noteable exception of Reed, Speith & Mickelson play for themselves not the team.

Bubba that is.

Web Simpson gets a hole in one and aul sour puss Watson didn't even smile.
What a prize Gobshite.

I'm not his biggest fan anyway but he could have at least smiled.. he didn't even acknowledge it.

Ethan you usually come across a bit self righteous and condescending but take it from the father of an 8 year old boy with ADHD that you really don't what you are talking about on this one.

Really??

It was clearly a joke between buddies.

I am sure we can all find a way to dislike player x or player y but in the case of Bubba he appears to have a great sense of humour (Golf Boys 2.0 anyone....the Bubbacraft etc.)

He was described earlier this week (and interviewed) as the first of the pros to get down and give his time to watch the DCP (Drive Chip Putt) challenge (40 kids aged 7-15) on Sunday (I think) and now many pros do it

Why the need to bash ?
