I know there were quite a few of us who bought new toys either before last season or just as the season got underway.

What I'm asking here is, did they make a difference to your game and did your handicap drop as a result.

I got JPX Pros and although they did make a difference, my handicap has stayed the same although that's mostly due to missing a fair chunk of the season through injury.

So, how did you fare with the must have stick ?

:)

910 Driver free from AG - has made a huge difference, mainly through having the right flex shaft
Irons - Going from blades to my slightly more forgiving CB clubs has made a big difference.

Result is that my handicap came down from 10.something to 6.5 (lowest 6.4) this year :)

my burners totally transformed my game. More consitant strikes and also i have alot more confidence in them than my old dunlops. Same for the putter really seem to have a better judge with it over the old dunlop.

h/c went up .2 but like you i was injured for a while and also changed golf club half way through the year and havent played a comp there yet

I went from mp 57 reg shaft to mp62 stiff shaft and it stopped the rot and got me cut back to 8.8 but still one shot higher than i started the season.

not sure if that counts though:(

G20s courtesy of PIng / GM - they called me "boring" before i had them, now my mates just fall asleep with my boring consistency

The K15 driver is just fantastic, the hybrid is a great club and teh wedges are very very consistent

Very happy with them

Definitely. I'm hitting the ball very well with the R11 irons and glad I made the switch. I've kept the TM PT's and hopefully once the game improves and we start getting towards 10 or 11 I'll be able to get back to them as they are better around the greens. I might even go to an R11/TP combo

My changes were too late in the season to have an impact. The driver has given me a new level of consistency and some extra yards and the hybrid has given me a longer 'go to' club off the tee and deck. The 3 wood has only had a couple of rounds but seems to be easier to hit. I am a bit undecided on the irons yet, certainly not a step back from the old ones but not sure that they are a massive step forward.

910 driver early to mid season, worked well for the first few rounds. Then went stale for the rest of the season.
Irons in the last month of the season last year. Dropped 2 shots in a month.

Driver is now stupid consistent, Irons still working nicely. Really really looking forward to the new season.

My wife bought me a set of Taylormade Forged TP CB's for Xmas and I also bought a pair of Callaway Diablo Edge Tour fairways in the Online Golf sale for £110 for the 3 & 5 wood which has to be one of the best sale offers I've seen.

I'm still getting used to the irons which offer a slightly more penetrating flight than my previous R7's however the control and feel off the face is superb.

With regard to the fairways I can honestly say that they're possibly the best buy I've ever made especially the 5 wood which is my go to club if I duff my drive or need to hit the ball a long way from the semi rough. The 3 wood is great from both the tee and the fairway and hits the ball a very long way. Although the irons haven't drastically changed my game, the woods will definitely save me a few shots per round.

Titleist AP1's courtesy of GM and Titleist. It's a little to early to say as I have only had them just over a month, but the future's bright :D

Titleist 910 d3 driver with 3 + 5 wood all custom fitted, got rid of my awful slice/push and i now hit it straight and long, helped me get cut by 7 shots this year :)

For this year ive got a few new wedges with the right gaps which should hopefully allow me to be better from 130 yards and in and i also have a new scotty cameron putter which so far is working really well.

Lots of practice and hopefully ill have another good year.

This years the year!

(and if its not then there's always 2013!) :fore:

I pretty much changed my whole bag about this time last year, at the time I was playing well and thought my timing was good. On balance it was not, I went up 0.5 but I realy only did enough to keep my handicap active. I took a long term view on my club purchases and I will not be making any sweeping changes although I would dearly love to change my iron shafts.

Although it may sound from my comments as though I had a poor season the truth is that I have put the building blocks in place for a real golf swing. Now may have been a better bet for changing the bag but no big deal.

The Razrs have certainly made a difference to my scores. Maybe only a shot or two but I've been much more consistent with them than the MP58's they replaced.
The G20 Driver has made me into a reasonable driver of the ball again - apart from some stinkers today - Before i got it my driving was at the standard of a 20 handicapper, now it's residing around 7!

My Vokeys have helped me massively from 100 yards in. I've still got a massive amount of improving to do, but compared to what I had before they are doing a fine job. I'm a lot more confident with them and that in itself has reduced the number of duffs as I'm now actually committing to hitting the shot!

New JPX pro irons that shaved 2 shots off my handicap, and even though I would've liked more I am hitting them really well and with my last 8 round averaging 35 pts paying off 17 (7/8) hcap I know I'm not too far away to do some damage hopefully!

Swapped from my i15's to Cobra S3's a couple of months ago. Feel more confident with them and seem to be collaring them a little better. Having more success on mid length (140-160yd) par 3's since buying them so whether that can be used as a yardstick I dunno. They've not shaved shots off my handicap and are not likely to as I don't play in enough qualifiers, but I'm happy with them, they didn't cost me an awful lot of money over and above what I got for my Pings so I've no regrets on changing...apart from my sand iron. The S3's have a lovely black finish on them but the couple of times I have played out of sand have seen me take scratches out of the clubface. The other clubs are like new. So I'm trying desperately not to go into bunkers. And when I do, I'm tending to thin it out of the bloody things 'cos I don't want to mark up my club!

Coming back to the game after a year off due to illness I found my Callaway HyperX (my first 460cc driver) and MX25s with lightweight regular shafts (as opposed to MP30 with S300) made a big difference. So easy to hit.

Got much more spin from my Vokeys than my old T-Zoid wedges (u-grooves vs v-grooves) and absolutely love the feel of my Scotty Newport.

Handicap went up a a few points but I was expecting that.
