Promoted to her level of incompetency. A very good, and very well liked, constituency MP, and probably one of the best. Just can't cut it as a shadow minister. Her comments about Rudd not knowing her brief took irony to a whole new level.

I couldn't care less if she was white, right wing and a hard core Tory, she's incompetent and a blubbering idiot in front of camera and I'm amazed she's allowed to do any public and TV appearances.
She's hypocritical and you can trip her up easily, she's an embarrassment to her party so IMO, is well suited to it and her leader!

She is an easy target for the press. I don't think she is half as bad as some would have you believe and people are just looking for any slight mistake to reinforce their existing perceptions. But agree she has a image issue that will be hard to overcome and therefore is probably not the most effective shadow for a lot of the electorate.

DA wouldn't go on to the Nick Ferrari prog on LBC this mornring - for whatever reason (she'd just be ridiculed by him and his callers). Instead he took to playing back snippets of when she'd blundered in the past. This being as part of a discussion on the resignation of Amber Rudd.

She spent much time having a go a Tories for sending their children to public school and then did the same herself. When challenged she argued that you have to your best for your kids. Utter hypocrite, who when push comes to shove doesn't practice what she preaches.

Whilst I'm certainly not a fan, for some on here to suggest she is stupid is staggeringly obtuse. A degree from Cambridge would strongly suggest otherwise.
To dismiss her as inept is ridiculous. The first black woman to be elected to the Commons. One of the most popular constituency MP's around. She's obviously done something right.
She may have made many high profile mistakes but so have many othe Politicians without the level of bile that she seems to provoke.

Education does not always equal intelligence. I've known and still know plenty of people with degrees who are stupid beyond belief!

A top University education indicates an ability to learn. To suggest otherwise is in Abbott territory. They make lack common sense. Their ability may be focused in one particular area rather than widespread. However, I can confirm that if someone has a degree then they are intelligent.

She may indeed have some impressive qualifications but that was then and now is now. She appears to have mental health issues to me and would be better taking some time out to deal with them and I don't say this as a knock to the Labor party.

She was withdrawn from public engagements just prior to the last election because of mental issues. Not new depths but..."Diane Abbott reveals long term condition" her words, June 13th 2017, no one else's.

People do actually suffer from mental illness, I don't understand why you think that should be an unreasonable suggestion. If she had a physical condition would it also be unbelievable?
The way she has been talking recently and the fact that she has taken some time off due to her health suggests to me she has a problem.

Our lass has a degree in Business Management. She thinks the Sun and Moon are the same celestial object, just differing appearances day or night. Can’t operate a cooker or microwave, link a phone to a car. Once watched Air Crash Investigation and thought the dramatic re-anacments was real footage. And her math skills on par with Dianne Abbots.
Worthless degree, much like DA’s History degree.
DA does a good job for the Conservatives though, so I applaud her for that.

She stepped down due to issues surrounding her type 2 diabetes. This was widely reported so I'm not sure where the mental health suggestion came from!
The initial comment was a cheap shot, designed purely to insult and demean someone. Not only that, but it's insulting to people with genuine mental health issues. At a time when society is attempting to lift the stigma on those who genuinely suffer, it's an unnecessary direction to take.
